Earn certifications before applying
Quality Technician roles in medical devices require familiarity with ISO 13485 and FDA 21 CFR Part 820. Holding an ASQ Certified Quality Technician credential before you apply signals compliance readiness and reduces employer hesitation around sponsorship risk.
Target openings tied to regulated facilities
Shermco hires Quality Technicians across multiple sites. Focus on locations tied to FDA-regulated manufacturing, where the compliance burden is highest and where employers are more practiced at sponsoring technical roles that require specialized training.
Confirm OPT STEM extension eligibility early
Medical device quality roles often qualify under STEM OPT because they map to engineering or applied science SOC codes. Verify your degree field aligns before accepting an offer, since the extension requires your employer to enroll in E-Verify.
Use Migrate Mate to filter verified sponsorship listings
Quality Technician openings vary widely in whether sponsorship is genuinely available. Use Migrate Mate to filter Shermco Industries listings specifically by visa type, so you only spend time on roles where your work authorization is already supported.
Align your resume to inspection and documentation language
Shermco Quality Technician job descriptions consistently reference incoming inspection, nonconformance reporting, and calibration records. Framing your experience in that language, rather than generic quality assurance terms, accelerates the hiring process and reduces friction before sponsorship conversations begin.

Does Shermco Industries sponsor H-1B visas for Quality Technicians?
Shermco Industries does not appear to have a consistent pattern of H-1B sponsorship for Quality Technician roles specifically. The company more commonly supports F-1 OPT, TN, and J-1 pathways for this function. If H-1B sponsorship is a priority for you, raise it directly with the recruiter before advancing through the interview process, since sponsorship availability can vary by site and hiring manager.
How do I apply for Quality Technician jobs at Shermco Industries?
You can browse and apply for Quality Technician openings at Shermco Industries through Migrate Mate, which filters listings by visa sponsorship type so you can identify roles that match your work authorization status. When applying, tailor your resume to quality documentation, inspection procedures, and any regulatory standards experience relevant to medical device manufacturing, since those are the qualifications Shermco consistently prioritizes for this role.
Which visa types does Shermco Industries commonly use for Quality Technician roles?
Shermco Industries has sponsored Quality Technicians through F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, J-1, and EB-2 or EB-3 immigrant visa pathways. For recent graduates, F-1 OPT is typically the entry point, with STEM extension possible if your degree field qualifies. TN visas are available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying technical roles. EB-2 and EB-3 represent longer-term Green Card pathways for those who establish themselves in the role.
What qualifications does Shermco Industries expect for Quality Technician positions?
Shermco typically looks for candidates with a degree or technical diploma in a relevant field such as engineering technology, life sciences, or a related discipline, combined with hands-on experience in quality inspection or nonconformance documentation. Familiarity with ISO 13485 standards and FDA regulatory requirements is a strong differentiator in medical device environments. An ASQ Certified Quality Technician credential strengthens your application, particularly if you're also requesting visa sponsorship.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Quality Technician at Shermco Industries?
Timeline depends on the visa type. F-1 OPT authorization typically takes two to three months from application to employment authorization document approval, so you'll need to plan ahead relative to your start date. TN status for Canadian citizens can be obtained at the border on the day of travel. EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card processes involve PERM labor certification through DOL, which alone can exceed a year before USCIS adjudication even begins.
