Align your credentials to NFPA and NETA standards
Shermco's electrical engineering work centers on power systems testing and commissioning. Highlighting credentials like NETA certifications or familiarity with IEEE 1584 arc flash standards signals to hiring managers that you can contribute immediately in a regulated environment.
Target roles tied to medical device facility projects
Shermco supports electrical infrastructure in medical device manufacturing environments, where FDA compliance and cleanroom power reliability matter. Framing your experience around regulated facility environments positions you for their higher-priority project work and strengthens your specialty occupation case for H-1B or EB filings.
Confirm your visa type early in recruiter conversations
Shermco sponsors multiple visa categories including TN, F-1 OPT, CPT, J-1, and employment-based Green Card pathways. Stating your current status upfront helps the recruiter route your application correctly and avoids late-stage delays when the offer stage arrives.
Use OPT strategically before cap-season filing
If you're on F-1 OPT, time your job search so a Shermco offer can be secured well before your OPT expiration. USCIS H-1B cap filings open in March for an October 1 start, so a late spring or summer offer may not protect your work authorization without a STEM OPT extension as a buffer.
Prepare a degree equivalency memo for EB sponsorship
For EB-2 or EB-3 PERM sponsorship, DOL requires that the stated job requirements match the petition. If your degree is from a non-U.S. institution, get a credential evaluation from a NACES-member agency early so there are no gaps when Shermco's immigration counsel files the labor certification.
Browse verified Shermco openings through Migrate Mate
Electrical Engineer roles at Shermco are spread across service branches and project types, making it easy to miss relevant openings. Use Migrate Mate to filter Shermco positions by visa sponsorship type so you're applying only to roles where your authorization status is already confirmed as supported.

Does Shermco Industries sponsor H-1B visas for Electrical Engineers?
Shermco Industries does sponsor employment-based visas for Electrical Engineers, though their primary sponsorship activity centers on pathways like TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, J-1, and EB-2/EB-3 Green Card categories. H-1B sponsorship depends on the specific role, location, and project need, so confirming directly with the recruiter at the offer stage is the most reliable approach.
How do I apply for Electrical Engineer jobs at Shermco Industries?
You can find and apply for Electrical Engineer openings at Shermco Industries through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa sponsorship type so you only see positions where your work authorization is supported. Shermco hires across service branches and project types, so filtering by role and region helps you identify the most relevant openings before applying directly.
Which visa types does Shermco Industries commonly use for Electrical Engineers?
Shermco supports a range of visa categories for Electrical Engineers, including F-1 OPT and CPT for students and recent graduates, TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering roles, J-1 for exchange visitors, and EB-2 or EB-3 for candidates pursuing permanent residence through the PERM labor certification process with DOL.
What qualifications does Shermco Industries expect from Electrical Engineer candidates?
Shermco's electrical engineering work spans power systems testing, commissioning, and infrastructure maintenance in regulated industries including medical devices. Candidates typically need a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, hands-on experience with medium or high-voltage systems, and familiarity with relevant standards such as NFPA 70E or IEEE testing protocols. Field service experience is a strong differentiator for project-based roles.
How do I time the visa sponsorship process when targeting a role at Shermco Industries?
Timeline depends on your visa category. TN and OPT transitions can move quickly, often within weeks of an offer. EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship through PERM involves a multi-stage DOL and USCIS process that can take one to two years or more. If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your expiration date before accepting an offer so Shermco's immigration counsel has enough runway to file without a gap in work authorization.
