Certify Relevant Electrical Safety Credentials Early
Field Service Technician roles at Shermco often require NFPA 70E compliance and NETA certifications. Getting these documented before you apply signals field-readiness and reduces the employer's onboarding risk when evaluating sponsored candidates.
Target Shermco Openings in Underserved Regional Markets
Shermco operates service centers across the U.S., and locations outside major metros often have longer-standing vacancies. Applying to regional postings can shorten the hiring timeline and increase your chances of reaching a sponsorship conversation sooner.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter Active Shermco Listings

Align Your Resume to Shermco's Service Scope

Does Shermco Industries sponsor H-1B visas for Field Service Technicians?
Shermco Industries does not prominently list H-1B sponsorship for Field Service Technician roles. The visa types the company has sponsored for this function lean toward employment-based Green Cards (EB-2 and EB-3), F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and J-1. If H-1B sponsorship is your path, confirm directly with Shermco's HR team during the offer process, as sponsorship decisions are role- and location-specific.
Which visa types are commonly used for Field Service Technician roles at Shermco Industries?
Shermco Industries has sponsored Field Service Technicians under employment-based immigrant visa categories (EB-2 and EB-3), as well as nonimmigrant categories including F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and J-1. TN is only available to Canadian and Mexican nationals. EB-2 and EB-3 require a PERM labor certification filed with DOL, so those pathways take longer than OPT or TN activation.
What qualifications and experience does Shermco Industries expect for Field Service Technician roles?
Shermco Field Service Technician roles typically require an associate degree or higher in electrical technology or a related field, combined with hands-on experience in switchgear testing, protective relay work, or industrial electrical maintenance. NETA certifications and NFPA 70E compliance training are frequently listed as preferred qualifications. Experience in medical device facility environments is a differentiator for roles supporting that vertical.
How do I apply for Field Service Technician jobs at Shermco Industries?
You can browse current Field Service Technician openings at Shermco Industries through Migrate Mate, which filters listings by visa sponsorship type so you can match your immigration status to the right role. Apply directly through the employer's careers portal once you've identified a relevant opening. Tailor your application to the specific service discipline and geography listed in the posting, since Shermco hires across multiple regional service centers.
How long does the sponsorship and hiring process take for Field Service Technicians at Shermco Industries?
Timeline depends heavily on your visa category. F-1 OPT and TN sponsorship can move quickly, often within weeks of an offer. EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways require PERM labor certification through DOL, which typically takes 12 to 18 months before USCIS petition filing even begins. Start conversations about your visa category early in the interview process so Shermco's legal team can assess the path that fits your situation.
