Align your credentials to NETA standards
Shermco's Service Engineer roles often reference NETA certification or equivalent electrical testing credentials. Having NETA ETT or similar documented qualifications signals job-readiness and reduces employer hesitation around the extra steps of visa sponsorship.
Target field service openings by region
Shermco posts Service Engineer roles across multiple U.S. regions. Applying to locations with a documented history of visa-sponsored hires, rather than only headquarters, can improve your response rate from their recruitment team.
Prepare documentation for specialty occupation evidence
USCIS requires H-1B petitions to demonstrate that the Service Engineer role requires a specific bachelor's degree field. Gather your degree transcripts, any equivalency evaluations, and technical coursework records before an offer is extended.
Use Migrate Mate to filter verified openings
Shermco lists Service Engineer positions across regions, but not all explicitly advertise sponsorship. Use Migrate Mate to filter for roles at Shermco that are open to visa-sponsored candidates and track new postings as they appear.

Find Service Engineer at Shermco Industries JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Shermco Industries sponsor H-1B visas for Service Engineers?
Shermco Industries does sponsor H-1B visas, though it is not among the highest-volume H-1B filers in the electrical services sector. Service Engineer roles can qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS guidelines if the position requires a relevant engineering degree. Your best approach is to confirm sponsorship willingness directly with the recruiter during initial conversations, before investing significant time in the process.
How do I apply for Service Engineer jobs at Shermco Industries?
You can apply directly through Shermco's careers page or through Migrate Mate, which surfaces Shermco's Service Engineer openings filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility. When applying, tailor your resume to highlight electrical testing experience, any NETA certification, and hands-on field service work. If you need visa sponsorship, note your work authorization status clearly in your application or cover letter so recruiters can route your profile correctly.
Which visa types does Shermco Industries commonly use for Service Engineers?
Shermco has sponsored Service Engineers under F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, J-1, and employment-based Green Card categories including EB-2 and EB-3. TN status is a faster path for Canadian and Mexican nationals in engineering roles. For longer-term sponsorship, EB-3 through PERM is the most common route, though the full process from labor certification to Green Card approval typically spans several years.
What qualifications does Shermco Industries expect for Service Engineer roles?
Shermco typically looks for a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a closely related field, along with hands-on experience in power systems, switchgear, or electrical testing. NETA ETT or equivalent certification is frequently referenced in job postings. For H-1B sponsorship purposes, your degree must align specifically with the technical functions of the role, so a general engineering degree without relevant coursework may not satisfy USCIS specialty occupation requirements.
How do I understand the timeline for visa sponsorship at Shermco Industries?
Timeline depends on the visa type. F-1 OPT authorization is already in your hands and lets you start within weeks of an offer. TN status for Canadian or Mexican nationals can be obtained at the port of entry on your start date. H-1B has a cap-subject lottery each April with an October 1 start date, so timing your job search to align with the registration window, typically in March, is important. EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through DOL PERM adds a multi-year timeline on top of any nonimmigrant visa period.
