Align your credentials with USCIS specialty occupation standards
Quality Technician roles at CBRE often involve materials testing, quality control systems, and compliance with construction codes. Document how your degree in engineering, construction management, or a closely related field directly supports these duties before applying.
Target CBRE's project-based hiring cycles
CBRE ramps up Quality Technician hiring when large commercial construction or real estate development projects are awarded. Monitoring regional project announcements and CBRE's facilities management contract wins can signal when openings are likely to appear in your target market.
Clarify OPT or CPT authorization with your hiring contact
If you're on F-1 status, confirm early that the role qualifies under your degree's STEM classification. Quality Technician positions tied to engineering or construction technology programs are commonly approved for 24-month STEM OPT extensions, which buys critical time before H-1B sponsorship begins.
Ask explicitly about CBRE's internal immigration support process
CBRE handles a meaningful volume of visa filings across its technical workforce. During the offer stage, ask HR whether the company uses an in-house immigration team or an outside counsel firm, and confirm the timeline for initiating your H-1B or TN petition after your start date.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Quality Technician openings by visa type
Searching broad job boards makes it hard to identify which CBRE postings are realistically open to sponsored candidates. Use Migrate Mate to filter directly by visa sponsorship type so you're only spending time on roles where CBRE has already indicated willingness to file.
Prepare your PERM documentation early for permanent residency pathways
CBRE sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards for technical operations roles. If long-term U.S. residency is your goal, ask during negotiations whether CBRE initiates PERM labor certification for Quality Technician positions and what the typical waiting period is before the process begins.

Find Quality Technician at CBRE JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does CBRE sponsor H-1B visas for Quality Technicians?
Yes, CBRE sponsors H-1B visas for Quality Technician roles where the position meets USCIS specialty occupation requirements. The role typically needs to require a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific technical field such as engineering or construction management. CBRE has an established immigration support process for technical hires, so sponsorship for qualified candidates in this function is a realistic outcome.
How do I apply for Quality Technician jobs at CBRE?
You can browse and apply for Quality Technician positions at CBRE directly through Migrate Mate, which filters open roles by visa sponsorship type so you can identify postings where international candidates are actively considered. Applications generally require a resume, relevant certifications such as ICC or NICET credentials, and documentation of your current visa status so CBRE's hiring team can assess sponsorship feasibility from the start.
Which visa types does CBRE commonly use for Quality Technician roles?
CBRE sponsors a range of visa categories for Quality Technician hires, including H-1B, H-1B1 for Chilean and Singaporean nationals, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals with qualifying engineering backgrounds, and F-1 OPT and CPT for students currently enrolled or recently graduated. For candidates seeking permanent residency, CBRE also pursues EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship for technical operations roles.
What qualifications does CBRE expect for Quality Technician positions?
CBRE typically expects a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, materials science, or a closely related field, combined with hands-on experience in quality control or inspection on commercial construction or facilities projects. Industry certifications such as NICET Level II, ICC Special Inspector credentials, or ACI field testing certification strengthen your application significantly and support the specialty occupation determination required for H-1B sponsorship.
How do I handle the timing between my visa status and a CBRE offer?
Timing depends on your current status. If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your authorization covers the Quality Technician role's SOC code before accepting. For H-1B candidates, CBRE would file a cap-subject petition in April for an October 1 start, so offers extended outside that window may require a gap plan. TN status for qualifying Canadian and Mexican nationals can be obtained at the port of entry and is faster to activate once an offer is confirmed.
