Align Your Credentials to FDA Standards
SGS medical device quality roles frequently require familiarity with FDA 21 CFR Part 820 and ISO 13485. Having documented training or certifications in these frameworks signals to hiring managers that you won't need a long onboarding runway.
Target SGS Openings at Accredited Testing Sites
SGS Quality Technician positions tied to their ISO 17025-accredited labs carry more sponsorship momentum. These facilities operate under long-term regulatory contracts, which gives SGS stronger business justification when filing an H-1B petition with USCIS.
Search Quality Technician Roles Using Migrate Mate
Filter for Quality Technician openings at SGS using Migrate Mate, which surfaces roles by sponsorship history and visa type. This saves time you'd otherwise spend manually cross-referencing job boards with DOL disclosure data.
Clarify Sponsorship Scope Before Accepting an Offer
SGS sponsors multiple visa categories for technical roles. Ask HR directly whether your offer covers H-1B cap filing, TN eligibility if applicable, or F-1 OPT extension support. Getting this confirmed in writing prevents surprises after you've resigned from another position.
Build a Document Package Around GMP Experience
USCIS H-1B petitions for Quality Technician roles require evidence that the position qualifies as a specialty occupation. Letters from supervisors, controlled documents you've authored, and training records tied to Good Manufacturing Practice all strengthen your employer's filing.

Find Quality Technician at SGS JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does SGS sponsor H-1B visas for Quality Technicians?
Yes. SGS has a documented history of H-1B sponsorship for technical quality roles, including Quality Technician positions in the medical device space. Because these roles often sit within regulated testing environments requiring specialized knowledge of FDA and ISO standards, SGS can build a credible specialty occupation argument when filing with USCIS. Confirming sponsorship intent early in the process is recommended.
How do I apply for Quality Technician jobs at SGS?
You can find and apply for Quality Technician openings at SGS through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa sponsorship type so you can prioritize positions that match your status. SGS posts roles across multiple U.S. locations tied to their laboratory and testing divisions. Tailoring your application to highlight experience with ISO 13485, GMP, or medical device quality systems will make your profile more competitive.
Which visa types does SGS commonly use for Quality Technician roles?
SGS sponsors H-1B visas for Quality Technicians requiring a specialty degree, and supports F-1 OPT for recent graduates entering quality functions. TN status is available for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying technical roles. For longer-term pathways, SGS has also pursued EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship for quality professionals in positions that meet DOL's PERM labor certification requirements.
What qualifications does SGS expect for Quality Technician roles in medical devices?
Most SGS Quality Technician postings in medical devices call for a degree in a life sciences, engineering, or a related technical field. Hands-on experience with quality management systems, document control, and inspection protocols under ISO 13485 or FDA 21 CFR Part 820 is commonly expected. Familiarity with metrology, nonconformance reporting, or calibration processes strengthens your candidacy for roles tied to SGS's accredited testing labs.
How long does the sponsorship process take for a Quality Technician at SGS?
For H-1B sponsorship, the timeline depends on the annual lottery, which runs in March for an October 1 start date. If selected, USCIS processing takes roughly three to six months under standard service. TN status can be obtained at the border in a single day for eligible nationals. Green Card pathways through EB-3 involve PERM labor certification with DOL, which typically adds one to two years before the I-140 stage.
