Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Laboratory Jobs at SGS Jobs
Align your credentials to ISO standards
SGS laboratory roles in medical devices frequently require familiarity with ISO 13485 and FDA 21 CFR Part 820. Documenting hands-on experience with these standards on your resume signals direct fit and reduces employer hesitation around sponsorship.
Target roles tied to regulatory testing
SGS posts laboratory openings tied to biocompatibility, sterilization validation, and electrical safety testing for medical devices. These specializations carry clearer specialty occupation arguments for H-1B purposes, which strengthens the USCIS petition your employer files.
Search open laboratory positions through Migrate Mate
Filter SGS laboratory openings by visa type on Migrate Mate to surface roles where sponsorship has been confirmed. This saves time and focuses your applications on positions most likely to move forward with work authorization support.
Clarify OPT timelines before your first interview
If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your STEM OPT extension eligibility before applying. SGS laboratory roles in medical devices typically fall under qualifying STEM categories, but you'll need to verify your degree field aligns with E-Verify requirements for extension approval.
Build a degree equivalency file early
USCIS requires that H-1B specialty occupation roles demand at minimum a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. If your laboratory credentials include a three-year degree or international qualifications, get a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved evaluator before interviews begin.

Find Laboratory at SGS JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does SGS sponsor H-1B visas for Laboratorys?
Yes, SGS sponsors H-1B visas for Laboratory roles, particularly those tied to medical device testing and regulatory compliance. These positions typically meet the USCIS specialty occupation standard because they require a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific scientific field. Your employer files the H-1B petition with USCIS, so confirming sponsorship intent during the offer stage is the practical first step.
How do I apply for Laboratory jobs at SGS?
You can browse open Laboratory positions at SGS through Migrate Mate, which surfaces roles where visa sponsorship has been confirmed. When applying, tailor your resume to highlight experience with medical device standards such as ISO 13485 or FDA 21 CFR Part 820. SGS laboratory hiring tends to prioritize candidates with hands-on testing or validation backgrounds, so specific technical experience matters more than a general science credential.
Which visa types does SGS commonly use for Laboratory roles?
SGS sponsors H-1B visas most frequently for Laboratory hires, but the company also supports F-1 OPT and STEM OPT for recent graduates, TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying scientific occupations, and EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card pathways for longer-term sponsorship. The right visa type depends on your nationality, current status, and how the role is classified by DOL and USCIS.
What qualifications does SGS expect for sponsored Laboratory positions?
Most sponsored Laboratory roles at SGS in the medical devices space require a bachelor's degree or higher in chemistry, biology, biomedical engineering, or a closely related field. Practical experience with regulated laboratory environments, including GLP or GMP compliance, is frequently expected. Roles in device testing or sterilization validation may also require familiarity with ISO 17025 accreditation requirements or specific analytical instrumentation.
How do I time my application around the H-1B cap and processing?
The H-1B cap lottery opens in March each year, with employment start dates no earlier than October 1. If you're on F-1 OPT, you'll need enough remaining authorization to bridge from your application through the October start. USCIS premium processing is available and cuts the adjudication window significantly. Starting your job search with SGS several months before the March registration window gives your employer time to prepare the petition.
