- Build strong relationships with the wider SGS network and other bluesign regions to create mutually beneficial commercial opportunities.

Frame your credentials around regulatory sales
SGS sells testing, inspection, and certification services to medical device manufacturers. Tailor your resume to show experience selling compliance-driven or technical solutions, not just revenue numbers. Familiarity with FDA regulatory pathways signals immediate value to their Sales hiring managers.
Target SGS divisions with active device pipelines
SGS operates multiple business lines, but its medical device testing and certification units drive the most Sales headcount. Search open roles filtered by health sciences or medical technology divisions to find positions where visa sponsorship history is strongest.
Confirm LCA filing before accepting an offer
Before your H-1B petition goes to USCIS, your employer must certify a Labor Condition Application with the DOL. For Sales roles, verify the LCA lists the correct occupational classification, since misclassified titles can create complications at the petition stage.
Use Migrate Mate to surface verified sponsoring roles
Filter Sales openings specifically at companies with documented sponsorship activity in medical devices. Migrate Mate lets you search roles by visa type and industry, so you spend time on positions where sponsorship is a realistic outcome, not just a possibility.
Prepare for a multi-round technical sales interview
SGS Sales interviews typically assess your ability to sell technical services to procurement and regulatory teams at device manufacturers. Prepare case scenarios around shortening time-to-market for clients and navigating ISO or FDA compliance requirements as a value proposition.
Align your start date with H-1B cap timelines
Cap-subject H-1B petitions can only start October 1, following an April lottery registration. If you receive an offer in the spring or summer, work with SGS HR early to determine whether a cap-exempt filing or OPT bridge covers the gap before your petition takes effect.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does SGS sponsor H-1B visas for Sales roles?
Yes, SGS sponsors H-1B visas for Sales positions, particularly within its medical device testing and certification divisions. Sponsorship is more common for roles requiring technical sales expertise tied to a relevant degree field. Your petition must clear the annual USCIS lottery unless you qualify for a cap-exempt filing through a prior H-1B approval.
How do I apply for Sales jobs at SGS?
Apply directly through the SGS careers portal and filter by business line or location to find medical device Sales openings. You can also browse verified sponsoring Sales roles at SGS through Migrate Mate, which surfaces positions where visa sponsorship has been documented. Tailor your application to emphasize regulatory or compliance-driven sales experience relevant to SGS clients.
Which visa types does SGS commonly use for Sales hires?
SGS has sponsored H-1B visas for Sales professionals and has supported F-1 OPT extensions for recent graduates entering Sales roles. TN visas are an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying Sales occupations. For longer-term employees, SGS has initiated EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process.
What qualifications does SGS typically expect for Sales roles in medical devices?
SGS Sales roles in medical devices generally require a bachelor's degree in a life sciences, engineering, or business field, combined with experience selling technical or regulated services. Familiarity with FDA device regulations, ISO 13485, or clinical evaluation processes strengthens your candidacy. Account management experience with medical device manufacturers is a frequent requirement in mid-to-senior level postings.
How do I time my job search if I need H-1B sponsorship for a Sales role at SGS?
Start your search at least six months before your current work authorization expires. H-1B registrations open in March for an October 1 start date, so an offer needs to be in place before the registration window. If you're on F-1 OPT, your 60-day grace period after employment ends gives limited runway, making early outreach to SGS recruiters critical.
