Align Your Credentials to Power Systems Standards
Shermco operates heavily in electrical testing and power engineering. Before applying, confirm your degree and any professional certifications map clearly to the role's technical requirements, since specialty occupation determinations hinge on that direct alignment.
Target Roles Across Multiple Service Locations
Shermco's Engineering openings span field, lab, and project-based positions across numerous U.S. sites. Applying to roles in multiple regions improves your chances, since LCA filings are location-specific and some offices move faster through the sponsorship pipeline.
Understand How OPT and CPT Fit Your Timeline
If you're on F-1 status, OPT gives you up to 12 months of work authorization, with a 24-month STEM extension available. Time your application so your OPT start date aligns with Shermco's typical onboarding cycle to avoid gaps.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter Engineering Roles by Visa Type
Shermco posts Engineering jobs across multiple boards, but not all listings flag sponsorship availability. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Shermco Engineering openings that match your visa category so you're not wasting time on roles that won't work for your situation.
Prepare for DOL Prevailing Wage Requirements Early
For EB-2 and EB-3 green card pathways, your offered salary must meet DOL prevailing wage levels for the specific job title and worksite. Review the relevant wage level for your Engineering specialty before negotiating compensation so there are no surprises during PERM filing.
Address Nonimmigrant Intent Directly for TN Applications
TN visa applicants entering at the border must demonstrate the role qualifies under USMCA's engineer category. Bring a detailed employer letter specifying your engineering duties, degree, and project scope. Vague job descriptions are the most common reason TN applications get pushed back at ports of entry.

Find Engineering at Shermco Industries JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Shermco Industries sponsor H-1B visas for Engineers?
Shermco Industries does not appear in recent H-1B sponsorship data as an active H-1B filer for Engineering roles. The company's sponsorship activity for Engineering positions is concentrated in other pathways, including EB-2, EB-3, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and J-1. If H-1B sponsorship is a priority for you, clarify this directly with the hiring team during the offer stage.
Which visa types are commonly used for Engineering roles at Shermco Industries?
Shermco Industries supports Engineering candidates through F-1 OPT and CPT for students and recent graduates, TN visas for Canadian and Mexican engineers under USMCA, and employment-based Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3. J-1 visa holders in qualifying exchange programs may also find a fit. The right pathway depends on your nationality, degree level, and how long you've been in the U.S.
What qualifications and experience does Shermco Industries expect for Engineering roles?
Most Engineering roles at Shermco require a bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or a closely related engineering discipline. Field-based roles often require or strongly prefer hands-on experience with power systems, electrical testing, or industrial equipment. For visa sponsorship purposes, your degree field must align directly with the specific job duties since USCIS evaluates specialty occupation on a role-by-role basis.
How do I apply for Engineering jobs at Shermco Industries?
You can browse and apply for Engineering roles at Shermco Industries through Migrate Mate, which filters openings by visa sponsorship type so you can identify positions that match your immigration situation. When applying, tailor your resume to highlight technical skills relevant to Shermco's core work in electrical testing and power systems, and be ready to confirm your work authorization status early in the screening process.
How do I plan my timeline around Shermco Industries' sponsorship process for a Green Card?
EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through PERM labor certification is a multi-stage process that typically takes one to two years from start to a priority date being established, not counting visa queue backlogs for some nationalities. Start the conversation with your hiring manager and HR contact as early as possible after receiving an offer, since PERM requires advertising the role and DOL review before USCIS ever sees the petition.
