Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Industrial Electrician Jobs at ABM Industries Jobs
Certify Your Electrical Credentials Before Applying
ABM operates across multiple states, so verify your licenses transfer or meet local requirements. A state-issued journeyman or master electrician license strengthens your petition and signals to ABM's HR that you're ready to work without delays.
Target ABM's Facilities Management Job Postings Directly
ABM staffs electricians through its facilities management and technical services divisions, not always under a generic trades category. Search their careers portal filtering by 'engineering' or 'technical services' to surface the Industrial Electrician openings most likely to carry sponsorship support.
Ask About Sponsorship During the Technical Interview
ABM's hiring managers for trades roles have more influence over sponsorship decisions than a recruiter does. Raise visa sponsorship directly during your technical interview, framing it around your timeline and the role's start date rather than leaving it to the offer stage.
Understand How PERM Labor Certification Affects Your Timeline
If ABM files an EB-2 or EB-3 petition for you, DOL's PERM process requires advertising the role before filing. This adds several months before USCIS even receives your petition, so align your employment start date expectations with your hiring manager accordingly.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter ABM's Active Openings by Visa Type
Browsing ABM's full job board manually won't show you which roles have sponsorship attached. Use Migrate Mate to filter Industrial Electrician listings at ABM by supported visa category, so you apply only to positions where sponsorship is already confirmed.
Prepare Documentation of Equivalent Foreign Trade Qualifications
If your electrical training came from outside the U.S., get a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved organization before your offer stage. USCIS and DOL both require evidence that foreign trade qualifications meet the specialty occupation or prevailing wage classification standards for your role.

Find Industrial Electrician at ABM Industries JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does ABM Industries sponsor H-1B visas for Industrial Electricians?
Yes, ABM Industries has a track record of sponsoring H-1B visas for skilled trades roles including Industrial Electricians. Sponsorship is more common for positions requiring specialized electrical expertise in complex facilities or infrastructure environments. Your best approach is to confirm sponsorship support directly with your ABM recruiter once you reach the offer stage, as availability can vary by division and location.
Which visa types does ABM Industries commonly use for Industrial Electrician roles?
ABM sponsors both H-1B nonimmigrant visas and employment-based Green Card categories, specifically EB-2 and EB-3, for Industrial Electrician positions. H-1B is typically used for initial work authorization, while EB-3 is the most common Green Card pathway for skilled trades roles given its alignment with the experience and education requirements that electricians typically hold.
What qualifications and experience does ABM Industries expect for Industrial Electrician roles?
ABM generally looks for journeyman-level or higher electrical experience, familiarity with commercial and industrial electrical systems, and a valid state electrician license. Experience with building automation, high-voltage systems, or large-scale facilities is an advantage. For visa sponsorship purposes, your credentials and prior experience will also need to satisfy DOL's prevailing wage and specialty occupation standards under H-1B or PERM requirements.
How do I apply for Industrial Electrician jobs at ABM Industries?
You can apply through ABM's careers portal directly or browse their Industrial Electrician openings filtered by visa sponsorship support on Migrate Mate. When applying, tailor your resume to highlight licensed electrical work in commercial or facilities management settings, since ABM's core business centers on building services and infrastructure. Follow up with the recruiter to confirm sponsorship availability before the offer stage.
How do I plan my timeline if ABM Industries is filing a Green Card petition for me?
If ABM pursues an EB-3 Green Card, the process starts with PERM labor certification through the DOL, which typically takes six to twelve months before USCIS even receives your I-140 petition. Priority date backlogs for EB-3 vary significantly depending on your country of birth. Start the conversation with ABM's HR or immigration counsel early so the PERM filing can run concurrently with your H-1B status if possible.
