Frame your credentials around U.S. facilities standards
ABM operates in facilities and integrated services, so certifications like IFMA's CFM or FMP carry real weight. Translate your overseas qualifications into U.S.-recognized equivalents before you apply, since specialty occupation status depends partly on how clearly your credentials map to the role.
Target ABM's service line divisions strategically
ABM organizes hiring around divisions like Aviation, Education, and Technical Solutions. Identify which division aligns with your background and tailor your application to that vertical, since sponsorship decisions often sit with division-level hiring managers rather than central HR.
Search open Operations roles using Migrate Mate
Filter for ABM Industries on Migrate Mate to surface current Operations openings verified for sponsorship eligibility. This saves time you'd otherwise spend cross-referencing job boards with USCIS LCA disclosure data to confirm which roles are actively being sponsored.
Clarify the LCA filing timeline before accepting an offer
Your employer must file a Labor Condition Application with DOL before USCIS can process your H-1B petition. Ask the recruiting team early whether they use in-house counsel or outside immigration firms, since this affects how quickly the LCA gets submitted and your start date locks in.
Document multi-site operational experience explicitly
ABM frequently manages operations across multiple client sites under one contract. If your background includes coordinating distributed teams or vendor networks, spell that out in your resume and cover letter, since it directly mirrors the scope ABM expects from Operations hires.
Understand how EB-2 and EB-3 fit your long-term path
For permanent residence, ABM has used both EB-2 and EB-3 categories. EB-3 covers roles requiring a bachelor's degree or skilled experience; EB-2 requires an advanced degree or exceptional ability. Knowing which category fits your profile helps you negotiate the right sponsorship commitment upfront.

Find Operations at ABM Industries JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does ABM Industries sponsor H-1B visas for Operations roles?
Yes, ABM Industries has sponsored H-1B visas for Operations professionals. Sponsorship is tied to specific roles where the position qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards, meaning the job typically requires at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. Your chances improve significantly when the role has a clear educational requirement and your credentials align with it.
How do I apply for Operations jobs at ABM Industries?
You can search for current Operations openings at ABM Industries through Migrate Mate, which surfaces roles verified for visa sponsorship eligibility. Once you identify a position, apply directly through ABM's careers portal. Tailor your application to the specific service division you're targeting, and address visa sponsorship directly in your cover letter rather than waiting for the recruiter to raise it.
Which visa types does ABM Industries use for Operations roles?
ABM Industries has used both H-1B and employment-based Green Card categories including EB-2 and EB-3 for Operations roles. The H-1B covers temporary work authorization for specialty occupations, while EB-2 and EB-3 are immigrant visa pathways for permanent residence. Which route applies to you depends on your education level, the specific role, and how ABM structures the sponsorship agreement.
What qualifications does ABM Industries expect for sponsored Operations positions?
ABM typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in operations management, business administration, engineering, or a related field. Relevant certifications in facilities management or project coordination strengthen your profile. For H-1B sponsorship specifically, USCIS requires the role to be a specialty occupation, so the degree requirement needs to be genuine and specific to the position, not a general preference.
How long does the sponsorship and hiring process take for Operations roles at ABM Industries?
From offer acceptance to H-1B approval, the process typically spans several months. ABM's team must file a Labor Condition Application with DOL before USCIS processes the petition. If you're subject to the H-1B cap, you'll need to go through the annual lottery with an October 1 start date at the earliest. Cap-exempt scenarios and premium processing through USCIS can shorten timelines meaningfully.
