Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Maintenance Jobs at ABM Industries Jobs
Certify Trade Credentials Before Applying
ABM prioritizes candidates with documented technical qualifications. Get your HVAC, electrical, or facilities maintenance certifications recognized through a U.S.-based credentialing body before submitting applications, so your documents hold up during any USCIS petition review.
Target ABM's Facilities Management Contracts Directly
ABM wins large-scale service contracts with commercial buildings, airports, and campuses. Searching for openings tied to those contract sites, rather than just browsing general job boards, surfaces Maintenance roles where headcount is actively being built and sponsorship discussions are more likely.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter Verified Sponsorship Roles
Not every ABM Maintenance posting is tied to an active sponsorship pathway. Use Migrate Mate to identify which ABM roles have a confirmed H-1B or employment-based sponsorship history, so you're applying where the process already exists.
Clarify Sponsorship Scope During the Offer Stage
Before signing any offer, confirm in writing whether ABM is sponsoring H-1B status only or also committing to support a Green Card through PERM labor certification. Maintenance roles at large facilities employers can qualify for EB-3, but that filing is a separate employer decision.
Align Your Start Date with H-1B Cap Timelines
If you're not already in H-1B status, ABM's HR team will need to file during the annual USCIS cap registration window each March. Build that into your job search timeline so an offer letter doesn't expire before your petition is even filed.
Document Field Experience in DOL-Recognized Job Duties
When ABM's legal team prepares your Labor Condition Application with the DOL, they'll need your role to match a recognized occupational classification. Frame your resume around specific maintenance duties, equipment types, and industry codes that align with how DOL defines those positions.

Find Maintenance at ABM Industries JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does ABM Industries sponsor H-1B visas for Maintenances?
Yes, ABM Industries has a track record of sponsoring H-1B visas for Maintenance roles, particularly in facilities engineering and technical services. Sponsorship is not automatic for every posting, so the most reliable approach is to confirm the company's intent during the offer negotiation stage and ask specifically which visa category the role is being supported under.
Which visa types does ABM Industries commonly use for Maintenance roles?
ABM Industries primarily uses H-1B and employment-based immigrant visa categories, including EB-2 and EB-3, for Maintenance professionals. EB-3 is particularly relevant for skilled trades and technical maintenance positions. If you're pursuing a long-term path, clarify early whether the company is prepared to support PERM labor certification in addition to the initial nonimmigrant petition.
How do I apply for Maintenance jobs at ABM Industries?
You can browse and apply for Maintenance positions at ABM Industries through Migrate Mate, which surfaces roles with a verified sponsorship history. When applying, tailor your resume to reflect specific technical maintenance skills and any certifications relevant to the facilities or engineering services sector, since ABM's hiring managers assess candidates against defined trade competencies, not just general experience.
What qualifications and experience does ABM Industries expect for Maintenance roles?
ABM typically looks for candidates with hands-on experience in HVAC systems, electrical maintenance, plumbing, or building automation, depending on the specific role. Formal trade certifications strengthen your application significantly. For sponsored positions, your qualifications also need to satisfy USCIS standards for the relevant visa category, which means your credentials should be documented and, where required, formally evaluated.
How do I manage the timeline from job offer to work authorization at ABM Industries?
If you're subject to the H-1B cap, ABM would need to register you in the annual lottery, with cap-subject employment typically starting no earlier than October 1. If you're transferring from an existing H-1B, portability rules allow you to start sooner once the petition is filed. Either way, build at least four to six months of lead time into your planning between offer acceptance and an expected start date.
