Align your portfolio to Siemens infrastructure stack
Siemens consulting engagements run heavily on Azure and hybrid cloud environments. Before applying, make sure your portfolio highlights infrastructure-as-code, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipeline work that maps to enterprise-scale deployments, not startup tooling.
Get your OPT authorization documented early
If you're on F-1 OPT, have your EAD card and STEM extension eligibility confirmed before your first recruiter call. Siemens hiring teams move quickly, and gaps in your authorization timeline will surface during background screening.
Target Siemens business units with active DOL filings
Siemens operates across distinct business verticals. Search DOL Labor Condition Application disclosure data by employer unit to identify which divisions file for DevOps roles most consistently, then focus your applications on those groups.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open DevOps roles at Siemens
Siemens posts across multiple job boards, making it easy to miss roles that explicitly support sponsorship. Use Migrate Mate to filter DevOps openings at Siemens by visa type so you're only spending time on positions that fit your status.
Prepare for PERM if you're targeting permanent residency
Siemens sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards for DevOps engineers, which requires a PERM labor certification through DOL. That process typically takes one to two years before the I-140 petition stage, so discuss the timeline with your hiring manager during offer negotiations.

Does Siemens sponsor H-1B visas for DevOps roles?
Yes, Siemens sponsors H-1B visas for DevOps engineers. The company participates in the annual H-1B cap lottery each April and also files for cap-exempt cases where applicable. If you're already in H-1B status with another employer, Siemens can file an H-1B transfer so you can start working while the petition is pending.
How do I apply for DevOps jobs at Siemens?
Start by browsing open DevOps roles on Migrate Mate, which filters Siemens listings by visa sponsorship eligibility so you can focus on positions that match your status. When you apply directly through Siemens, tailor your resume to the specific business unit posting. Siemens recruiting often moves through multiple screening rounds, so expect a technical assessment alongside the standard HR screen.
Which visa types does Siemens use for DevOps engineers?
Siemens supports several visa categories for DevOps hires, including H-1B, F-1 OPT (including STEM extensions), F-1 CPT, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals, J-1, and EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship for longer-term permanent residency paths. The right category depends on your current status, nationality, and how far along the offer process you are.
What qualifications does Siemens expect for sponsored DevOps positions?
Siemens DevOps roles typically require a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a closely related field to qualify as a specialty occupation under H-1B standards. Practical experience with cloud platforms (particularly Azure), containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines carries significant weight. Consulting-sector roles often add client-facing project delivery experience as a distinguishing factor.
How long does the sponsorship and hiring process take at Siemens?
Timeline depends on your visa category. H-1B transfers for candidates already in valid status can move in a few weeks. New H-1B cap cases follow the annual lottery cycle, with employment starting October 1 at earliest. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3 typically takes two to four years from filing through I-485 approval, depending on your priority date and country of birth.
