INTRODUCTION
SRI International’s Microcircuit Emulation Center (formerly Sarnoff Corporation) is looking for Analog Test Engineers to support the manufacturing of microcircuits (integrated circuits). Through SRI's Generalized Emulation of Microcircuits (GEM) program, the Microcircuit Emulation Center supplies form, fit, function, and interface replacements for obsolete microcircuits. This capability supports production, redesign, and sustainment requirements for the life of a weapon system. SRI’s Microcircuit Emulation Center is a government-supported, U.S.-based Trusted foundry. These roles will be based 100% on site at our Princeton, NJ facility.
Responsibilities:
- Define, document, and implement methods to perform accurate and efficient characterization and Mil-Spec electrical screening of Analog microcircuits (i.e. amplifiers, linear/LDO voltage regulators, PLLs, DAC, ADC, etc).
- Develop specialized test approaches and programs to resolve problems, particularly in the areas of automated testing of Analog devices and high speed signal measurements (i.e. instrumentation, fixturing issues, etc).
- Maintain and improve existing methods for the testing and measurement of microcircuits using ATE and related equipment; interact directly with the technical staff of test equipment suppliers to address and resolve equipment or software related issues that may arise.
- Interact directly with the end-users or responsible program managers to review testing results and address test related issues.
- Provide recommendations to management on test technology trends and anticipated Emulation program test requirements.
- Assist in training of test engineers in the area of Analog testing.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have hands-on capability/experience in the measurement of Analog microcircuit characteristics using both manual/bench instrumentation.
- Working experience with automated, computer-controlled measurement systems (ATE) is desired; if direct ATE experience is lacking, must have demonstrated ability in relevant programming languages (i.e. C, C++, LabView, etc).
- Experience working on both Unix/Linux workstation and PC (Windows) environments.
- Ability to interpret semiconductor related test documentation (i.e. military device specifications and standards documentation, commercial data sheets, application notes, etc) in order to complete characterization and screening tasks.
- Bachelors in Electrical/Computer Engineering, with 4+ years relevant work experience in Analog testing. In lieu of a degree, 8 years minimum experience in a related field.
- Due to Government requirements, US Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with others.
- Demonstrate ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- The flexibility/ability to support future work schedules that may require working on alternating weekends to support business needs.
COMPENSATION
- The salary range is: $79,533-$105,381. Salary ranges will vary and are based on several factors, including geographic location, market competitiveness and equity amongst internal employees in similar roles. Positions may also qualify for SRI's Pay for Outstanding Performance program or the annual Performance Based Compensation program. SRI also has a competitive benefits package, to view details please go to https://www.sri.com/resources/benefits/.

Job Roles at SRI International Companies
How to Get Visa Sponsorship in SRI International Visa Sponsorship USA
Target roles that align with SRI's core research divisions
SRI's sponsorship activity concentrates in research-heavy roles across AI, biomedical science, and defense technologies. Focus your application on positions requiring deep domain expertise in these areas, where H-1B sponsorship is a standard part of the hiring process.
Lead with your research credentials and publications
SRI International hires for specialty occupations requiring advanced academic backgrounds. Highlight peer-reviewed publications, graduate research, or domain-specific technical experience prominently in your application, these signal the kind of expertise SRI typically sponsors.
Understand that SRI's sponsorship is role-specific, not company-wide
Not every open position at SRI leads to H-1B sponsorship. Prioritize roles explicitly listed as research scientist, engineer, or technical specialist positions, as these align most closely with SRI's established sponsorship track record.
Be prepared for a longer, credential-heavy hiring process
Research institutions like SRI often require technical interviews, portfolio reviews, or presentations of past work. Start preparing your research portfolio and reference letters early, as the evaluation process can take longer than standard corporate hiring timelines.
Look for contract research roles as a pathway into sponsored positions
SRI frequently staffs projects through sponsored research agreements, which sometimes leads to full-time sponsored roles. Engaging with SRI's project pipeline through contract or postdoctoral positions can build the internal visibility needed for H-1B sponsorship.
Use Migrate Mate to find SRI International's open sponsored roles
SRI's sponsored positions aren't always easy to identify from a standard job search. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history and find SRI openings where H-1B sponsorship has been confirmed.

Get Access To All JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does SRI International sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, SRI International sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying specialty occupation roles, primarily in research, engineering, and life sciences. Sponsorship is concentrated in technical and scientific positions that require at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Not all open roles include sponsorship, so it's important to identify positions where SRI has an established sponsorship pattern before applying.
What types of roles at SRI International are most likely to receive H-1B sponsorship?
Sponsored roles at SRI International tend to fall within its core research areas: artificial intelligence, defense systems, biosciences, and advanced engineering. Positions with titles like research scientist, senior engineer, or staff scientist are the most common recipients of H-1B sponsorship. Administrative, program management, or generalist roles are less likely to be sponsored, as they don't typically meet specialty occupation criteria.
How do I find open visa-sponsored jobs at SRI International?
The most reliable way is to use Migrate Mate, which aggregates jobs from verified H-1B sponsors and lets you filter directly by company and visa type. This saves time compared to searching through general job boards, where sponsorship eligibility is rarely confirmed upfront. SRI's sponsored openings appear in Migrate Mate's listings when positions are available.
How do I improve my chances of getting sponsored by SRI International?
SRI International values deep technical expertise over broad experience. Candidates with advanced degrees, published research, or specialized domain knowledge in SRI's core fields have the strongest profiles. Tailoring your application to a specific research division, demonstrating familiarity with SRI's ongoing projects, and connecting with researchers at the institute before applying all meaningfully improve your chances of progressing to sponsored hire.
What is the typical timeline for SRI International's H-1B sponsorship process?
Once SRI extends a job offer to an international candidate, the H-1B filing timeline depends on USCIS processing and the fiscal year cap cycle. Standard processing can take several months from petition filing to approval. If the role falls under a cap-exempt category due to SRI's nonprofit research status, there's no lottery requirement, which can make the process faster and more predictable than at for-profit employers.
