Apptronik is a human-centered robotics company developing AI-powered robots to support humanity in every facet of life. Our flagship humanoid robot, Apollo, is built to collaborate thoughtfully with people, starting with critical industries such as manufacturing and logistics, with future applications in healthcare, the home, and beyond. We operate at the cutting edge of embodied AI, applying our expertise across the full robotics stack to solve some of society's most important problems. You will join a team dedicated to bringing Apollo to market at scale, tackling the complex challenges like safety, commercialization, and mass production to change the world for the better.
JOB SUMMARY
We're looking for experienced senior and junior electrical engineers to drive our electronics developments for the end effectors of the Apollo humanoid robot. We are primarily interested in candidates who have developed electronics for robotic end effectors, prosthetics, and wearables. In this job role, you will own electronic systems from ideation through design, testing, and into mass production.

- Design, simulate, implement, and test multi-layer mixed signal PCBAs and wiring harnesses.
- Rapid prototyping of electrical systems at both system and board levels.
- Simulate and verify electronics and electrical system requirements.
- Generate design documentation such as schematics, block diagrams, test plans and procedures, fabrication and assembly drawings.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including software, mechanical, thermal, systems engineers, and manufacturing.
- Conduct performance benchmarking and power analysis to optimize the hardware for maximum efficiency and thermal management.
- Develop and execute comprehensive validation and test plans, design necessary test fixtures, and execute rigorous testing to confirm compliance with performance specifications and regulatory standards (e.g., FCC, CE, UL).
- Participate in the debugging and root cause analysis related to hardware and software defect resolution.
- Drive excellence in EMI/EMC/SI/PI and DFM/DFA.
- Own the entire lifecycle of electronics and electrical systems from initial concept and architecture definition through design, prototyping, validation, production release, change requests, and ongoing support.
- Manage 3rd party relationships with vendors, contract manufacturers, and external design services.
- Act as a mentor within the electrical engineering team, guiding junior engineers on best practices for hardware design, documentation, and troubleshooting.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors, Masters, or PhD degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 4+ years of experience in electronics development.
- Preferred experience with end effectors/end of arm tooling (EOAT), prosthetics, wearables, motor drives, firmware, communication protocols (Ethernet, EtherCAT, CAN, etc.), and wiring harnesses.
- Experience with product lifecycle management and PLM systems such as Arena.
- Competent in CAD tools including Altium or similar tools.
- Proven experience designing, prototyping, and debugging PCB/PCBAs as well as interfacing with manufacturing groups during release/build.

- Excellent communication (verbal & written); will be expected to develop detailed build assembly instructions and diagrams.
- Excellent problem-solving and hardware debugging skills.
- Hands-on experience with prototyping and testing, including the use of lab equipment.
- Experience with robotics or designing electronics for lightweight, space-constrained systems is a significant plus.
- Nice to have - subject matter expertise in the following areas: power electronics, battery and charger development, high-speed digital or compute carrier board design, functional safety, compliance, or DFx.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

Match your degree to USMCA professions
TN eligibility depends on your degree field aligning with a recognized USMCA profession, not just your job title. For Apptronik's engineering and research roles, degrees in mechanical, electrical, or computer engineering carry the clearest credential match at the border.
Verify your role qualifies before applying
Before submitting to Apptronik's engineering or research openings, cross-reference the job description against the USMCA TN professions list. Use O*NET to confirm the occupation code and typical degree requirements match what you'll present at the port of entry.
Request a detailed TN support letter early
Apptronik's offer letter must specify your USMCA profession category, prearranged employer-employee relationship, and intended duration. Ask your recruiter for these details before your border appointment, since a vague letter is the most common reason TN admission gets delayed.
Benchmark salary against OFLC Wage Search
TN doesn't require a certified LCA, but a salary below the prevailing wage for your role raises credibility concerns at the border. Look up your occupation in OFLC Wage Search to confirm Apptronik's offer is competitive for the relevant metropolitan area and wage level.
Use Migrate Mate to find active TN openings
Targeting companies that consistently hire TN professionals in science and research roles saves significant time. Migrate Mate surfaces Apptronik's open positions alongside its broader sponsorship history, so you can prioritize applications where TN admission is an established part of the hiring process.
Prepare for on-the-spot Canadian border processing
Canadian citizens apply for TN directly at a U.S. port of entry, with no advance USCIS filing needed. Bring your Apptronik offer letter, credential documentation, and degree transcripts in a single organized package, since CBP officers make admission decisions during the appointment itself.
Apptronik TN Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Apptronik sponsor TN visas?
Yes. Apptronik hires TN professionals in engineering, software development, and applied research, all fields with eligible occupations under the USMCA professions list. The company issues offer letters that support TN admission at the border or U.S. consulate. Your degree field must align with the specific USMCA profession category listed in the offer.
Which roles at Apptronik typically qualify for TN admission?
Roles in robotics engineering, mechanical and electrical engineering, software engineering, and applied research align most directly with USMCA's recognized TN professions. Positions requiring a qualifying bachelor's degree in a related discipline are the strongest candidates. Roles that require only general management or non-technical credentials typically fall outside TN eligibility.
How do I start the TN process after receiving an Apptronik offer?
Once Apptronik issues your offer letter, Canadian citizens proceed directly to a U.S. port of entry with the letter, degree transcripts, and supporting credentials. Mexican nationals schedule a visa appointment at a U.S. consulate. There is no USCIS petition and no DOL filing, so preparation centers on your credential documentation and the offer letter's accuracy.
How long does TN admission take when working with Apptronik?
Canadian citizens typically receive a decision at the port of entry the same day. Mexican nationals face consular wait times that vary by location and season. TN status is granted for up to three years and can be renewed in the same increments, so most Apptronik TN professionals renew rather than change visa categories mid-employment.
How do I find open TN-eligible positions at Apptronik?
Migrate Mate lists Apptronik's open roles and filters for positions where TN admission is supported, helping you identify engineering and research openings that match your credential profile. Cross-check any role against the USMCA professions list and confirm with Apptronik's recruiter that the position has been filled through TN admission previously before investing time in the application.
How does TN visa admission work at Apptronik?
TN status is granted under the USMCA treaty — there is no USCIS petition or Labor Condition Application required. Canadian citizens can apply directly at a U.S. port of entry with an offer letter from Apptronik, while Mexican citizens must first obtain a TN visa at a U.S. consulate. The role must match one of the professions listed in USMCA Appendix 1603.D.1. Migrate Mate filters TN job listings to roles that fall within the eligible profession list.
