Verify your role against USMCA professions
TN admission is only available for occupations explicitly listed under USMCA. Before applying to Aramco, cross-reference your job title against the official professions list and confirm your degree aligns with the specific occupation, not just the broader energy sector.
Tailor credentials to petroleum engineering standards
Aramco's technical teams prioritize specialized upstream and downstream expertise. Review your O*NET occupation profile for the role you're targeting and make sure your credentials and experience map directly to those defined tasks and knowledge areas before submitting any application.
Search Aramco's verified TN hiring history on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Aramco's employer profile by TN-eligible roles and confirm which departments actively hire Canadian and Mexican nationals. This lets you target your application toward teams with a real pattern of TN-supported hiring rather than guessing from the job board.
Request a detailed offer letter covering TN requirements
Aramco's offer letter is your primary document at the border or consulate. Ask HR to specify your USMCA profession category, your prearranged employment terms, and that the role requires your professional qualifications. Vague letters are the most common cause of TN admission delays.
Plan your Canadian port-of-entry visit strategically
Canadian nationals can seek TN admission directly at a land border or preclearance airport without a prior visa appointment. Busier crossings during peak commute hours carry longer wait times. Bring certified degree transcripts and your offer letter, as CBP officers at Aramco-adjacent ports are familiar with energy sector roles.
Align your salary expectations with prevailing wage data
While TN doesn't require a formal Labor Condition Application, Aramco's compensation offers for technical roles reflect DOL wage levels. Run your target title and work location through the OFLC Wage Search before negotiating so you can benchmark your offer against the correct wage tier for your occupation.
Aramco TN Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Aramco sponsor TN visas?
Yes, Aramco supports TN admission for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying USMCA professions. Aramco doesn't file a petition on your behalf. Instead, the company issues a support letter confirming your prearranged employment, which you present at a U.S. port of entry or consulate along with your credentials and the appropriate documentation.
Which roles at Aramco typically qualify for TN admission?
Aramco's TN hires are concentrated in technical and scientific disciplines aligned with the USMCA professions list, including petroleum engineers, geologists, chemists, and computer systems analysts supporting energy operations. Roles in general management or administrative functions generally don't qualify for TN since they aren't listed USMCA professions.
How do I find open TN-eligible positions at Aramco?
Migrate Mate lets you filter Aramco's job listings by TN visa type, giving you a direct view of roles where Aramco has a history of supporting TN candidates. You can also review Aramco's careers page and match open positions against the USMCA professions list before applying to confirm eligibility.
How do I start the TN process once Aramco extends an offer?
Once Aramco extends an offer, request a detailed offer letter specifying your USMCA profession category, employment start date, and job duties. Canadian nationals then present this letter directly to CBP at a port of entry. Mexican nationals apply for a TN visa at a U.S. consulate before traveling. USCIS is not involved for either nationality under the standard process.
How long does TN admission typically take at Aramco?
For Canadian nationals, TN admission at the port of entry is typically decided the same day. Mexican nationals applying for a TN visa at a U.S. consulate should expect a timeline driven by consular appointment availability, which varies by location. Once admitted, TN status is granted for up to three years and can be renewed in equal increments indefinitely.
How does TN visa admission work at Aramco?
TN status is granted under the USMCA treaty — there is no USCIS petition or Labor Condition Application required. Canadian citizens can apply directly at a U.S. port of entry with an offer letter from Aramco, while Mexican citizens must first obtain a TN visa at a U.S. consulate. The role must match one of the professions listed in USMCA Appendix 1603.D.1. Migrate Mate filters TN job listings to roles that fall within the eligible profession list.
