Match your credentials to USMCA roles
TN admission requires your job title and duties to map precisely to a listed USMCA profession. In food and beverage, roles like food scientist, chemist, or engineer qualify. Review the USMCA professions list before applying so your resume reflects qualifying occupation language CPH's hiring team recognizes.
Target CPH's technical and scientific teams
CPH's food and beverage operations depend on quality assurance, food science, and process engineering functions. These departments most commonly align with USMCA-eligible occupations. Prioritize roles with degree requirements in a natural science, engineering, or life science field when searching CPH's open positions.
Request a role-specific offer letter early
CPH's offer letter must state your USMCA occupation category, job duties, and intended employment period. A generic offer letter can cause delays or refusals at the border. Ask your CPH recruiter or HR contact to confirm the letter explicitly names your qualifying profession before your admission appointment.
Check your salary against prevailing wage benchmarks
While TN doesn't require an LCA, underpaying relative to your occupation's prevailing wage can raise credibility concerns at the border. Use the OFLC Wage Search to verify CPH's offered salary aligns with the wage level for your occupation code and work location before accepting an offer.
Use Migrate Mate to find CPH TN roles
Searching broadly for food and beverage jobs won't filter for TN-compatible roles. Migrate Mate surfaces CPH positions by visa type and occupation, so you can identify openings that realistically match USMCA-eligible functions at CPH before investing time in an application.
Prepare your credential documentation before your border appointment
Canadian nationals present TN documentation directly at a port of entry without a prior visa. Bring your degree transcripts, professional licenses if applicable, and your CPH offer letter. Border officers assess your qualifications on the spot, so incomplete documentation can result in an immediate refusal.
CPH TN Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does CPH sponsor TN visas?
CPH hires TN professionals and issues offer letters for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying roles. TN is treaty-based admission under USMCA, so CPH doesn't file a petition with USCIS. Instead, CPH provides the offer letter documentation you need to present at the border or U.S. consulate for your TN admission.
Which roles at CPH are most likely to qualify for TN admission?
CPH's food and beverage operations most commonly align with USMCA-eligible occupations in food science, chemistry, chemical engineering, and industrial engineering. Quality assurance and process improvement roles with degree requirements in natural sciences or engineering are your strongest candidates. Review each job posting's required qualifications against the USMCA professions list to confirm eligibility before applying.
How do I start the TN process after receiving a CPH offer?
Once CPH issues your offer letter, Canadian nationals proceed directly to a U.S. port of entry with their documentation. Mexican nationals apply for a TN visa at a U.S. consulate abroad. In both cases, you'll need your CPH offer letter, degree credentials, and any relevant professional documentation. USCIS is not involved in the initial TN admission process.
How long does TN admission at CPH typically take?
Canadian nationals can often complete TN admission at the border the same day, provided documentation is complete and the officer approves the application. Mexican nationals face consular appointment wait times that vary by location and season. TN status is granted in increments, and CPH can support renewal documentation when your role continues.
How do I find open TN-compatible positions at CPH?
Standard job boards don't filter for TN-eligible roles, which makes it easy to apply for positions that don't qualify. Migrate Mate lets you search CPH openings filtered by visa type, so you can focus on roles where your USMCA occupation category and CPH's job requirements actually align before reaching out to their recruiting team.
How does TN visa admission work at CPH?
TN status is granted under the USMCA treaty — there is no USCIS petition or Labor Condition Application required. Canadian citizens can apply directly at a U.S. port of entry with an offer letter from CPH, while Mexican citizens must first obtain a TN visa at a U.S. consulate. The role must match one of the professions listed in USMCA Appendix 1603.D.1. Migrate Mate filters TN job listings to roles that fall within the eligible profession list.
