Match your credentials to USMCA professions
TN admission is limited to specific USMCA profession categories, so verify your degree and job title both align with the official list before applying. Engineers, scientists, and computer professionals are the categories most relevant to Danfoss's manufacturing and R&D hiring.
Target Danfoss's engineering and technical divisions
Danfoss hires TN professionals most actively in power electronics, refrigeration engineering, and industrial automation. Focus your job search on roles where a specific technical degree is a listed requirement, not just a preference, since that degree-to-role match is what officers assess at the border.
Confirm your offer letter covers all TN requirements
Before your border crossing or consulate appointment, verify that Danfoss's offer letter explicitly states your profession category, your degree requirement for the role, your anticipated length of employment, and that the position is temporary. Missing any element is a common reason for TN delays.
Use Migrate Mate to find Danfoss TN-eligible openings
Search Migrate Mate to filter Danfoss job listings by TN-eligible roles and see which positions align with USMCA profession categories. This saves you from applying to roles where your degree field won't support TN admission, so you can prioritize applications with the strongest fit.
Benchmark your salary against OFLC Wage Search data
While TN doesn't require a Labor Condition Application, your offered wage still reflects whether Danfoss's compensation is competitive for your occupation and location. Use the OFLC Wage Search before negotiating to confirm your offer aligns with prevailing wages for your role and experience level.
Prepare for a same-day decision at the port of entry
Canadian nationals get TN admission decided at the border without a visa stamp, so your entire case rests on the documents you carry. Bring your Danfoss offer letter, your original degree credential, and any transcripts that confirm your field of study matches the USMCA profession you're entering under.
Danfoss TN Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Danfoss sponsor TN visas?
Yes, Danfoss supports TN admission for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying USMCA professions. TN is not a petition process, so Danfoss's role is to issue an offer letter confirming the role, the required degree, and the temporary nature of the position. You present that letter at the port of entry or U.S. consulate.
Which roles at Danfoss typically qualify for TN admission?
Danfoss's strongest TN-eligible hiring tends to fall in mechanical, electrical, and systems engineering, along with computer science and scientific research roles tied to its industrial automation and power electronics divisions. The USMCA profession list is fixed, so your job title and the degree it requires must both map to a listed category.
How do I find Danfoss job openings that support TN admission?
Migrate Mate lets you filter Danfoss listings by visa type so you can identify roles that align with USMCA profession categories before applying. Look specifically for positions where a bachelor's degree in a directly related technical field is listed as a requirement rather than a preference, since that distinction matters at the border.
How do I prepare my documents for TN admission with a Danfoss offer?
You'll need Danfoss's offer letter detailing your profession category, role description, and employment period, plus your original degree credential and transcripts showing your field of study. Canadian nationals present these at the border for a same-day decision. Mexican nationals apply for a TN visa stamp at a U.S. consulate before traveling, which adds processing time.
How long does TN status last at Danfoss, and can it be extended?
TN status is granted in increments of up to three years and can be renewed indefinitely as long as you maintain a qualifying job offer and meet USMCA profession requirements. Danfoss can issue a new offer letter for each renewal period. There's no cap on the number of renewals, which makes TN a viable long-term arrangement for ongoing employment.
How does TN visa admission work at Danfoss?
TN status is granted under the USMCA treaty — there is no USCIS petition or Labor Condition Application required. Canadian citizens can apply directly at a U.S. port of entry with an offer letter from Danfoss, while Mexican citizens must first obtain a TN visa at a U.S. consulate. The role must match one of the professions listed in USMCA Appendix 1603.D.1. Migrate Mate filters TN job listings to roles that fall within the eligible profession list.
