Align your degree to USMCA professions
TN eligibility depends on your specific degree matching a recognized USMCA profession, not just your job title. For EPS roles, degrees in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or electronics technology tend to map cleanly. Cross-check your credentials against the official USMCA professions list before applying.
Target hardware and embedded systems roles
EPS's core work sits in electronics design, embedded firmware, and hardware integration. Roles in those areas align with the engineer and computer systems analyst TN categories. Applying to positions outside that technical core reduces your chance of receiving a qualifying offer letter.
Verify EPS's active TN hiring on Migrate Mate
Before contacting EPS recruiters, use Migrate Mate to confirm the company is actively hiring TN professionals. Seeing current role activity saves you from pursuing positions where TN admission support isn't part of the offer process, so you focus your energy on live opportunities.
Confirm the offer letter covers all border requirements
At a Canadian port of entry, the CBP officer reviews your offer letter on the spot. Make sure EPS's letter specifies your job title as it appears on the USMCA list, your professional capacity, your qualifications, and your anticipated employment period. Missing any of these details can result in denial.
Benchmark your salary against OFLC Wage Search
TN doesn't require a formal prevailing wage filing, but EPS still needs to offer compensation consistent with the role and region. Run your occupation code through the OFLC Wage Search before negotiating. Knowing the prevailing range strengthens your position and helps you spot offers that fall short.
Use O*NET to sharpen your technical framing
CBP assesses whether your actual duties match a qualifying TN profession. Pull the O*NET occupation profile for your target role and map your resume tasks directly to its listed knowledge and skill descriptors. EPS hiring managers and border officers both respond to precise technical language over vague function titles.
EPS TN Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does EPS sponsor TN visas?
EPS hires TN professionals for qualifying roles in electronics and hardware engineering. Rather than filing a petition, EPS issues an offer letter that you present at the border or U.S. consulate as part of your TN admission. The company's work in electronics design and embedded systems aligns well with recognized USMCA engineering professions.
Which departments at EPS typically support TN admission?
TN opportunities at EPS are most common in hardware engineering, embedded systems development, and electronics integration teams. Roles requiring a degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a closely related technical discipline are the strongest fit for TN classification under USMCA's engineer and computer systems analyst categories.
How do I start the TN process after receiving an EPS offer?
Once EPS issues your offer letter, Canadian nationals present it directly at a port of entry for same-day CBP adjudication. Mexican nationals schedule a TN visa interview at a U.S. consulate. In both cases, you'll bring your degree credentials, the offer letter, and any supporting documents that confirm your professional qualifications for the specific USMCA role.
How long does TN admission through EPS take?
For Canadian nationals, CBP processes TN admission at the border the same day, so there's no wait once you have the offer letter. Mexican nationals face consular scheduling timelines that vary by location and season. TN status is granted in up to three-year increments and can be renewed indefinitely as long as you maintain a qualifying role at EPS.
How do I find open TN roles at EPS?
Migrate Mate shows current TN-eligible openings at EPS filtered by role type and visa category, so you can identify positions where the company actively supports TN admission. Cross-reference any role you're considering against the USMCA professions list and your own degree credentials before reaching out to EPS recruiters to confirm fit.
How does TN visa admission work at EPS?
TN status is granted under the USMCA treaty — there is no USCIS petition or Labor Condition Application required. Canadian citizens can apply directly at a U.S. port of entry with an offer letter from EPS, while Mexican citizens must first obtain a TN visa at a U.S. consulate. The role must match one of the professions listed in USMCA Appendix 1603.D.1. Migrate Mate filters TN job listings to roles that fall within the eligible profession list.
