Match your degree to USMCA professions
TN admission requires your role and degree to align with a specific USMCA profession category. For legal services roles at Foster Garvey PC, verify your occupation maps to a recognized category like Lawyer or Management Consultant before applying, mismatches at the border are common and costly.
Request a role-specific offer letter
Foster Garvey PC's offer letter must state your job title, duties, and intended TN profession category explicitly. Vague letters describing general legal support work create problems at entry. Ask your contact in recruiting or HR to confirm the letter matches your USMCA profession precisely before you travel.
Identify which practice groups hire TN professionals
At a firm like Foster Garvey PC, TN-eligible hires tend to concentrate in transactional, tax, and business law practices where Management Consultant and Lawyer classifications apply. Target your applications to these groups rather than litigation-heavy departments, where TN classifications are harder to support.
Use Migrate Mate to verify TN-active employers
Before reaching out to Foster Garvey PC, confirm the firm actively supports TN professionals in your target role type. Migrate Mate surfaces employer-level sponsorship data so you can prioritize firms with a real track record of supporting TN admissions in legal and professional services.
Prepare your credential documentation before interviews
Canadian professionals presenting at the border need original degree transcripts, professional licenses if applicable, and the offer letter on the day of entry. Don't wait until after an offer to gather these. Credential evaluation delays are one of the most preventable reasons TN admission gets pushed back.
Clarify renewal expectations during the offer stage
TN status is granted in three-year increments with no statutory limit on renewals, but each renewal depends on continued employment in the same qualifying role. Ask Foster Garvey PC whether your position is structured as a long-term hire before accepting, since role changes can affect your TN classification at renewal.

Does Foster Garvey PC sponsor TN visas?
Yes, Foster Garvey PC supports TN admission for qualified Canadian and Mexican professionals. Eligible candidates present the offer letter and supporting documents at a port of entry or U.S. consulate.

Roles that typically support TN admission at Foster Garvey PC fall under USMCA profession categories such as Lawyer, Management Consultant, and Accountant. Positions in transactional law, business advisory, and tax practices align most cleanly with these categories. Confirm your specific job title maps to a recognized USMCA profession before proceeding.
How do I start the TN process with Foster Garvey PC?
Once Foster Garvey PC extends a job offer, the firm issues a support letter outlining your role, qualifications, and USMCA profession category. Canadian citizens present this letter at the border along with proof of citizenship and credentials. Mexican citizens apply at a U.S. consulate. There is no USCIS petition involved.
How long does TN admission take at Foster Garvey PC?
Canadian citizens who apply at a port of entry can receive TN admission the same day if documentation is in order. Mexican citizens applying through a U.S. consulate face standard consular processing timelines, which vary by post. TN status is granted for up to three years and can be renewed without a cap on total duration.

Search Foster Garvey PC's careers page for roles in legal, tax, and business advisory functions that match your USMCA profession category.
