Align your degree to TN occupation categories
TN admission ties your specific degree field to a named USMCA profession. Before applying to Gallagher, cross-reference your credential against the TN occupation list using O*NET to confirm your role in insurance or risk consulting qualifies.
Target Gallagher's analytics and actuarial teams
Gallagher's actuarial, data analytics, and risk consulting divisions hire professionals in occupations that map cleanly to USMCA categories. Prioritizing these teams gives you the strongest alignment between your credentials and roles that support TN admission at the border.
Request a precise offer letter from Gallagher HR
Your TN admission depends entirely on Gallagher's offer letter. Ask HR to specify your USMCA occupation category, degree requirement, job duties, and employment period. Vague letters get challenged at ports of entry, even for straightforward insurance roles.
Prepare for Canadian versus Mexican entry differences
Canadian nationals present Gallagher's offer letter directly at a U.S. port of entry without a prior visa appointment. Mexican nationals must attend a U.S. consulate interview first. Knowing your path shapes how far in advance you coordinate with Gallagher's HR team.
Search Gallagher TN roles through Migrate Mate
Finding Gallagher job listings that explicitly support TN admission takes more than a standard job board search. Use Migrate Mate to filter verified TN-supporting employers in insurance, so you're applying to roles where the hiring team already understands USMCA admission requirements.
Benchmark your salary against OFLC Wage Search data
TN doesn't require a formal prevailing wage filing, but Gallagher's offers for insurance analysts and actuaries typically reflect local market rates. Check the OFLC Wage Search for your occupation and metro area so you can negotiate from an informed position before accepting.
Gallagher TN Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Gallagher sponsor TN visas?
Yes, Gallagher supports TN admission for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying USMCA roles. Rather than filing a petition, Gallagher issues an offer letter that the candidate presents at the border or U.S. consulate. Roles in actuarial science, risk consulting, IT, and financial analysis are among those that typically align with USMCA profession categories.
Which Gallagher departments typically hire TN professionals?
Gallagher's actuarial, data analytics, risk management, and information technology teams hire for roles that map well to USMCA occupation categories. Their insurance brokerage and consulting divisions also recruit analysts and advisors whose degree fields commonly support TN admission. Use Migrate Mate to filter open Gallagher roles verified for TN eligibility.
How do I start the TN process once Gallagher extends an offer?
Ask Gallagher's HR team to prepare a detailed offer letter stating your USMCA occupation category, your degree requirement, your specific job duties, and your employment period. Canadian nationals take that letter directly to a U.S. port of entry. Mexican nationals schedule a consulate appointment through the U.S. embassy in Mexico before traveling.
How long does TN admission at the border typically take?
For Canadian nationals with complete documentation, border admission often takes under an hour at most ports of entry. Mexican nationals face a longer timeline because a consulate appointment and interview must happen before travel. TN status is granted in increments of up to three years and can be renewed indefinitely as long as the job continues.
What should I bring to the border when starting a TN role at Gallagher?
Bring Gallagher's original offer letter, your valid passport, proof of your qualifying degree such as transcripts or a diploma, and the TN admission fee. USCIS guidance on TN documentation is the authoritative source for the current fee and the complete list of required materials. Having certified degree translations ready avoids delays if your credential is from a non-English institution.
How does TN visa admission work at Gallagher?
TN status is granted under the USMCA treaty — there is no USCIS petition or Labor Condition Application required. Canadian citizens can apply directly at a U.S. port of entry with an offer letter from Gallagher, while Mexican citizens must first obtain a TN visa at a U.S. consulate. The role must match one of the professions listed in USMCA Appendix 1603.D.1. Migrate Mate filters TN job listings to roles that fall within the eligible profession list.
