Company Description
It started with a simple idea: what if surgery could be less invasive and recovery less painful? Nearly 30 years later, that question still fuels everything we do at Intuitive. As a global leader in robotic-assisted surgery and minimally invasive care, our technologies—like the da Vinci surgical system and Ion—have transformed how care is delivered for millions of patients worldwide.
We’re a team of engineers, clinicians, and innovators united by one purpose: to make surgery smarter, safer, and more human. Every day, our work helps care teams perform with greater precision and patients recover faster, improving outcomes around the world.
The problems we solve demand creativity, rigor, and collaboration. The work is challenging, but deeply meaningful—because every improvement we make has the potential to change a life.
If you’re ready to contribute to something bigger than yourself and help transform the future of healthcare, you’ll find your purpose here.

Align your credentials to USMCA professions
TN eligibility depends on your role matching a named USMCA profession, not just your job title. Cross-reference your degree and intended duties at Intuitive Surgical against the official USMCA professions list before applying. Mismatched credentials are the most common reason CBP denies TN admission.
Target roles in engineering and regulatory affairs
Intuitive Surgical's core hiring for TN-eligible candidates concentrates in mechanical and software engineering, systems architecture, and regulatory affairs. Focusing your search on these teams gives you the strongest alignment between your USMCA-qualifying profession and the duties described in the job posting.
Request a detailed offer letter before traveling
At the border or consulate, you present Intuitive Surgical's offer letter, not a government-approved petition. Make sure the letter specifies your exact job title, professional category, duties, salary, and employment period. Vague letters cause delays and secondary inspections, even when your credentials are solid.
Verify your wage against OFLC Wage Search data
TN doesn't require a formal prevailing wage filing, but CBP officers can question whether compensation reflects your professional category. Run your offered salary through OFLC Wage Search for your occupation code and metropolitan area before your interview so you can speak to it if asked.
Use Migrate Mate to identify Intuitive Surgical's visa hiring history
Before reaching out to Intuitive Surgical's recruiting team, use Migrate Mate to review the company's broader work authorization hiring patterns by role and department. That context helps you target the right teams and frame your TN eligibility clearly in your application materials.
Prepare for renewal timing inside your status period
TN status is granted in up to three-year increments with no cap on renewals. Canadians can renew at the border; Mexicans must return to a U.S. consulate. Coordinate with Intuitive Surgical's HR team at least 60 days before your current status expires to get an updated offer letter in time.
Intuitive Surgical Operations, Inc. TN Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Intuitive Surgical Operations, Inc. sponsor TN visas?
Intuitive Surgical Operations, Inc. supports TN admission for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying USMCA professions. The company issues offer letters that TN candidates present at the U.S. border or consulate. There is no USCIS petition involved. Eligibility depends on your role aligning with a named USMCA profession and your credentials matching that classification.
Which roles at Intuitive Surgical Operations, Inc. are typically eligible for TN status?
TN-eligible roles at Intuitive Surgical tend to sit in mechanical engineering, software engineering, systems engineering, and regulatory affairs. These functions map cleanly to USMCA-recognized professions such as engineer and scientific technician. Roles in general management, sales, or operations support are less likely to qualify unless your specific duties align with a named USMCA category.
How do I start the TN process with Intuitive Surgical Operations, Inc.?
Once you have a job offer, Intuitive Surgical's HR team issues a support letter confirming your title, duties, salary, and employment period. Canadian citizens present that letter directly at a U.S. port of entry. Mexican nationals schedule a consular interview at a U.S. embassy or consulate. USCIS is not involved in either path. The process typically moves faster than H-1B visa sponsorship.
How long does TN admission take for Intuitive Surgical candidates?
For Canadian citizens, TN admission at the border is often same-day once you have your offer letter and supporting documents. Mexican nationals applying through a U.S. consulate face appointment wait times that vary by location and season, typically ranging from a few days to several weeks. Neither path involves USCIS processing times or a lottery delay.
How do I find open TN-eligible jobs at Intuitive Surgical Operations, Inc.?
Migrate Mate filters job listings by visa type and employer, making it straightforward to identify Intuitive Surgical roles that align with USMCA-qualifying professions. You can also search Intuitive Surgical's careers page directly and use O*NET to verify that a role's listed duties match your professional category before submitting your application.
How does TN visa admission work at Intuitive Surgical Operations, Inc.?
TN status is granted under the USMCA treaty — there is no USCIS petition or Labor Condition Application required. Canadian citizens can apply directly at a U.S. port of entry with an offer letter from Intuitive Surgical Operations, Inc., while Mexican citizens must first obtain a TN visa at a U.S. consulate. The role must match one of the professions listed in USMCA Appendix 1603.D.1. Migrate Mate filters TN job listings to roles that fall within the eligible profession list.
