Match your occupation to USMCA categories
TN admission is limited to specific professions listed under USMCA. Before applying to Parkland, verify your role falls within a qualifying category, engineers, chemists, and geologists are common fits for energy sector positions. O*NET can help confirm your occupation's classification.
Target Parkland's operations and engineering teams
Parkland's U.S. energy operations rely heavily on technical and engineering talent. Focus your applications on refining, fuel distribution, and infrastructure roles where USMCA-eligible occupations are most active. These teams are where TN-eligible candidates have the strongest hiring alignment.
Request a detailed support letter from Parkland
Parkland issues an offer letter you present at the port of entry or consulate. Ensure it specifies your USMCA profession category, job duties, salary, and employment duration. Border officers assess admissibility on the spot, so every detail in that letter matters for a smooth entry.
Search Parkland's verified TN hiring history on Migrate Mate
Before applying, use Migrate Mate to review Parkland's TN-related employment history by role and location. That context helps you target departments where TN professionals have successfully been admitted and tailor your application to what Parkland's hiring teams already understand.
Benchmark your salary against prevailing wages early
Canadian and Mexican professionals entering on TN aren't subject to a formal prevailing wage requirement, but Parkland's offer must reflect competitive market rates. Use the OFLC Wage Search to confirm your offered salary aligns with energy sector norms in the specific U.S. state where you'll work.
Prepare for same-day admission decisions at the border
Unlike H-1B, TN status is granted at the port of entry with no advance USCIS petition. Canadian citizens can present their Parkland offer letter directly at the border. Have your credentials, degree certificates, and professional license documentation organized and ready for immediate review by CBP officers.
Parkland Corporation TN Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Parkland Corporation sponsor TN visas?
Parkland Corporation supports TN admission for qualifying Canadian and Mexican professionals by issuing offer letters for eligible roles. TN isn't employer-sponsored in the traditional sense, there's no USCIS petition. Instead, Parkland provides the documentation you need to present at the U.S. border or consulate for admission under USMCA.
Which roles at Parkland Corporation are typically eligible for TN status?
Parkland's energy operations create demand for engineers, chemists, geologists, and other technical professionals whose occupations appear on the USMCA professions list. Roles tied to refining, fuel distribution, and infrastructure projects are the most common fit. Positions in general administration or operations that fall outside USMCA categories won't qualify regardless of employer support.
How do I start the TN process after receiving a Parkland offer?
Once Parkland issues your offer letter, Canadian citizens proceed directly to a U.S. port of entry with their credentials and documentation for same-day CBP review. Mexican citizens apply at a U.S. consulate abroad. Neither path involves a USCIS petition or an LCA filing, admission is granted by CBP or a consular officer based on your documents.
How long does TN admission take when working with Parkland?
For Canadians, TN admission happens at the border during the same visit, there's no waiting period once you have Parkland's offer letter and supporting credentials. Mexican citizens face consular appointment wait times that vary by location and season. Either way, the absence of a USCIS petition process makes TN significantly faster than H-1B visa from offer to start date.
How do I find open TN-eligible positions at Parkland Corporation?
Migrate Mate lets you search Parkland Corporation's hiring activity filtered for TN-compatible roles, so you can focus on positions where USMCA-eligible professionals have a realistic path to admission. Cross-reference any role you're considering against the USMCA professions list and confirm your specific occupation qualifies before investing time in the application.
How does TN visa admission work at Parkland Corporation?
TN status is granted under the USMCA treaty — there is no USCIS petition or Labor Condition Application required. Canadian citizens can apply directly at a U.S. port of entry with an offer letter from Parkland Corporation, while Mexican citizens must first obtain a TN visa at a U.S. consulate. The role must match one of the professions listed in USMCA Appendix 1603.D.1. Migrate Mate filters TN job listings to roles that fall within the eligible profession list.
