Match your credential to USMCA's professions list
TN admission at Piston Automotive only covers roles explicitly listed in USMCA. Before applying, confirm your occupation code against the USMCA professions list and verify your degree aligns with the specific field Piston Automotive is hiring for, not just the broader industry.
Request a detailed offer letter from Piston Automotive
Your TN offer letter from Piston Automotive must state your job title, USMCA profession category, duties, salary, and employment period. A vague or incomplete letter is the leading cause of TN denial at the border. Request a comprehensive draft before your border appointment.
Target engineering and technical roles first
Piston Automotive's TN hires cluster in engineering, industrial, and manufacturing technology disciplines within automotive production and supply chain operations. Focus your applications on these teams rather than general corporate functions, where TN-eligible occupation matches are less straightforward to establish.
Use Migrate Mate to identify Piston Automotive's active roles
Migrate Mate filters job listings by visa type and employer, so you can see which Piston Automotive roles are open to TN professionals right now. Search by occupation category to surface positions that align with your USMCA profession before investing time in a cold application.
Prepare your credential evaluation before the border
If your degree is from a non-U.S. institution, Customs and Border Protection officers may question its equivalency to a U.S. bachelor's degree in the relevant field. A credential evaluation from a recognized agency, obtained in advance, removes ambiguity and speeds up the admissions review at the port of entry.
Align your salary expectation with DOL wage data
Piston Automotive's offer must meet or exceed the prevailing wage for your role and location. Run the OFLC Wage Search for your occupation's SOC code and metropolitan area before negotiating compensation, so your offer letter reflects a wage level that won't raise concerns during TN admission.
Piston Automotive TN Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Piston Automotive sponsor TN visas?
Yes. Piston Automotive supports TN admission for qualified Canadian and Mexican nationals in USMCA-listed professions. The company issues offer letters for eligible roles in engineering, manufacturing technology, and related technical disciplines. TN is treaty-based admission, so there is no USCIS petition involved. Piston Automotive provides the documentation; you present it at the border or U.S. consulate.
Which roles at Piston Automotive typically qualify for TN admission?
TN-eligible positions at Piston Automotive are concentrated in engineering, industrial technology, and management consulting functions tied to automotive manufacturing and supply chain. Roles such as mechanical engineer, industrial engineer, and manufacturing engineer align well with USMCA profession categories. Positions in general administration or sales are less likely to meet TN occupation requirements without a direct degree-to-role match.
How do I find open TN-eligible positions at Piston Automotive?
Migrate Mate lists Piston Automotive roles filtered by visa type, so you can identify current openings that align with TN-eligible occupations before applying. Cross-reference any role's listed requirements against the USMCA professions list and your own credential to confirm eligibility. Applying to roles outside the USMCA list wastes time and can result in denial at the border.
How long does TN admission take at Piston Automotive?
For Canadians, TN admission is decided at the port of entry on the day of travel, typically within a few hours, once Piston Automotive provides the offer letter and you have your supporting documents. Mexican nationals must schedule a visa interview at a U.S. consulate, which adds several weeks depending on consulate wait times. Neither route involves a USCIS processing queue.
What documents do I need to bring to the border for TN admission with a Piston Automotive offer?
You need your valid passport, the detailed offer letter from Piston Automotive specifying your role, USMCA profession category, duties, salary, and employment period, plus evidence of your qualifying credential such as your degree and any relevant transcripts. Canadian nationals present these directly to a CBP officer. Mexican nationals submit them as part of the consular visa application before traveling.
How does TN visa admission work at Piston Automotive?
TN status is granted under the USMCA treaty — there is no USCIS petition or Labor Condition Application required. Canadian citizens can apply directly at a U.S. port of entry with an offer letter from Piston Automotive, while Mexican citizens must first obtain a TN visa at a U.S. consulate. The role must match one of the professions listed in USMCA Appendix 1603.D.1. Migrate Mate filters TN job listings to roles that fall within the eligible profession list.
