Match your credentials to USMCA professions
Sanmina hires for electronics manufacturing roles, but TN admission only covers specific USMCA professions. Cross-reference your job title against the official USMCA professions list before applying. A misaligned title, even for a qualified candidate, will get turned away at the border.
Target Sanmina's engineering and IT teams
Sanmina's strongest TN hiring sits in systems engineering, process engineering, and IT infrastructure roles tied to its contract manufacturing divisions. Applying to these teams gives you the best chance of landing a role where the hiring manager already understands TN admission requirements.
Verify your wage meets prevailing levels early
Before accepting an offer, run your role and location through OFLC Wage Search to confirm the offered salary meets the prevailing wage. Sanmina operates across multiple U.S. states, so the wage floor shifts by site. A shortfall won't block TN admission, but it can complicate future H-1B visa or Green Card sponsorship.
Request a detailed offer letter before border entry
Sanmina's offer letter must specify your USMCA profession category, job duties, salary, and employment duration. Canadian nationals present this at the port of entry without a prior consular appointment. An incomplete letter causes delays or denials on the spot, so confirm every required field before you travel.
Search Migrate Mate to confirm active TN openings
Use Migrate Mate to filter Sanmina's current openings by TN-eligible roles before you reach out to recruiters. Targeting roles already tied to TN-compatible job codes saves time and ensures your application lands where Sanmina's hiring teams are already set up to support TN admission.
Prepare for TN renewal tied to project cycles
Sanmina's manufacturing contracts run in multi-year cycles, which often align with TN renewal periods. When negotiating your offer, ask whether your role is tied to a long-term program rather than a short-term project. Renewal is straightforward at the border, but a position tied to a concluded contract creates unnecessary risk.
Sanmina TN Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Sanmina sponsor TN visas?
Yes, Sanmina supports TN admission for Canadian and Mexican nationals in USMCA-eligible professions. Sanmina issues an offer letter that you present at a U.S. port of entry or consulate. There is no USCIS petition involved. Eligible roles are concentrated in engineering, IT, and technical operations aligned with Sanmina's electronics manufacturing business.
Which roles at Sanmina are eligible for TN admission?
TN-eligible roles at Sanmina typically fall within systems engineering, computer science, industrial engineering, and IT infrastructure. These align with USMCA professions categories that require at least a bachelor's degree or equivalent credentials. Roles in general operations or supply chain that don't map to a named USMCA profession are not eligible for TN admission, regardless of your qualifications.
How do I start the TN process after receiving a Sanmina offer?
Once Sanmina issues your offer letter, Canadian nationals can proceed directly to a U.S. land border or airport port of entry without scheduling a consular appointment. Mexican nationals must schedule a visa interview at a U.S. consulate. Confirm your offer letter includes your USMCA profession category, job duties, salary, and the expected employment period before you travel.
How long does TN admission take at Sanmina?
For Canadian nationals presenting at a port of entry, TN admission is typically granted the same day if documentation is complete. Mexican nationals face consular appointment wait times that vary by location and season. TN status is granted in up to three-year increments and can be renewed indefinitely, which suits Sanmina's longer-term engineering and IT projects.
How do I find TN-eligible job openings at Sanmina?
Use Migrate Mate to search Sanmina's current openings filtered by TN-eligible roles and USMCA profession categories. Targeting positions where the job code aligns with your USMCA profession before applying avoids the common problem of receiving an offer for a role that does not qualify for TN admission. Recruiting teams familiar with TN will have a smoother onboarding process for you.
How does TN visa admission work at Sanmina?
TN status is granted under the USMCA treaty — there is no USCIS petition or Labor Condition Application required. Canadian citizens can apply directly at a U.S. port of entry with an offer letter from Sanmina, while Mexican citizens must first obtain a TN visa at a U.S. consulate. The role must match one of the professions listed in USMCA Appendix 1603.D.1. Migrate Mate filters TN job listings to roles that fall within the eligible profession list.
