Match your credentials to USMCA professions
TN admission requires your role to fall within a specific USMCA professions list. Cross-reference Skydio's engineering and software job postings against that list before applying, a systems engineer or computer scientist classification typically qualifies, but titles must align precisely.
Obtain a degree evaluation for non-U.S. credentials
Skydio's technical roles often require specialized degrees. If your credentials come from a Canadian or Mexican institution, secure a credential evaluation from a recognized service before your interview so hiring managers can confirm your qualifications meet U.S. equivalency standards without delays.
Target Skydio's autonomy and software teams
Skydio concentrates its technical hiring in autonomous flight systems, computer vision, and embedded software. Roles in these departments map most cleanly to USMCA-eligible professions like engineer or computer systems analyst, increasing your chances of receiving a qualifying offer letter.
Request a detailed offer letter covering TN requirements
At the border or consulate, a CBP officer reviews your offer letter directly. Ask Skydio's HR team to include your specific job title, the USMCA profession category, your start date, and confirmation that the role requires your degree field, gaps in any of these details can trigger delays.
Use Migrate Mate to find verified TN roles at Skydio
Searching general job boards doesn't tell you which Skydio roles actually support TN admission. Migrate Mate filters by visa type and employer, so you can identify open positions at Skydio where TN candidates have been hired, saving you from applying to roles unlikely to proceed.
Prepare for same-day admission at a land port of entry
Canadian nationals don't pre-file with USCIS, you present your documents at a land border crossing or airport port of entry and receive TN status that day if approved. Bring your Skydio offer letter, credentials, and passport, and choose a port known for lower wait times during peak travel periods.
Skydio TN Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Skydio sponsor TN visas?
Skydio supports TN admission for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying USMCA professions. It doesn't file a petition with USCIS, instead, it issues an offer letter that you present at the border or a U.S. consulate. Roles in engineering, software development, and computer systems analysis are the most common fit for TN at Skydio.
Which Skydio roles typically qualify for TN admission?
Skydio's strongest TN-eligible roles are in autonomous systems engineering, embedded software, computer vision, and hardware engineering, all of which map to recognized USMCA professions. Roles requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field, such as electrical engineering or computer science, are the clearest fit for TN admission.
How do I start the TN process after receiving a Skydio offer?
Once Skydio issues your offer letter, Canadian citizens present it directly at a U.S. port of entry along with their credentials and passport, no prior USCIS filing is required. Mexican nationals apply at a U.S. consulate abroad. The offer letter must specify your job title, the matching USMCA profession category, and your degree field.
How long does TN admission take for a Skydio role?
Canadian nationals can receive TN status the same day at a land border or airport port of entry, making it one of the faster work authorization pathways available. Mexican nationals face consulate scheduling timelines that vary by location and season. TN status is granted in two-year increments and can be renewed without a cap on total renewals.
How do I find open TN-eligible jobs at Skydio?
Standard job boards don't filter by visa type, so it's difficult to know which Skydio postings genuinely support TN candidates. Migrate Mate surfaces roles at employers with a history of hiring TN professionals, letting you focus your search on positions where your visa status is already understood. Cross-checking the role against the USMCA professions list before applying is also essential.
How does TN visa admission work at Skydio?
TN status is granted under the USMCA treaty — there is no USCIS petition or Labor Condition Application required. Canadian citizens can apply directly at a U.S. port of entry with an offer letter from Skydio, while Mexican citizens must first obtain a TN visa at a U.S. consulate. The role must match one of the professions listed in USMCA Appendix 1603.D.1. Migrate Mate filters TN job listings to roles that fall within the eligible profession list.
