Match your credentials to USMCA occupations
TN admission at Sodexo requires your role to fall within the USMCA professions list. Dietitians, food scientists, and management consultants are among the eligible categories. Cross-reference your degree and job title against USMCA's occupation definitions before applying, since a mismatch disqualifies you at the border regardless of Sodexo's intent.
Target Sodexo's healthcare food service division
Sodexo's contracts with hospitals and long-term care facilities create recurring demand for registered dietitians, a profession explicitly listed under USMCA. These roles offer more predictable TN pathways than general food service positions, and Sodexo's healthcare segment actively recruits across Canada and Mexico for credential-heavy roles.
Verify your offer letter covers required TN elements
Your Sodexo offer letter must specify your USMCA profession category, job duties, intended length of stay, and that the position is not permanent. Canadian nationals present this letter directly at a port of entry. Review every field before your border appointment, since officers can deny admission for missing details.
Search Sodexo's verified TN hiring history on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Sodexo job listings by TN visa eligibility and review the company's verified hiring patterns for Canadian and Mexican nationals. This lets you target divisions and locations where TN admission has been supported before, rather than applying broadly across Sodexo's thousands of U.S. sites.
Benchmark your salary against prevailing wage data
While TN doesn't require a formal prevailing wage filing, Sodexo's offers for dietitians and food service managers must still be competitive enough to satisfy a border officer reviewing your admission eligibility. Use the OFLC Wage Search to confirm your offered salary aligns with the local wage level for your occupation and location.
Prepare for TN renewal before your initial status expires
TN status is granted in up to three-year increments and can be renewed indefinitely, but Sodexo must reissue a current offer letter for each renewal. Start the renewal process at least 60 days before your status expires. Canadians renew at a port of entry; Mexican nationals return to a U.S. consulate for a new visa stamp.
Sodexo TN Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Sodexo sponsor TN visas?
Sodexo supports TN admission by issuing offer letters for eligible Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying USMCA occupations. It doesn't file a petition or pay government fees the way H-1B visa sponsorship works. You present Sodexo's offer letter at a port of entry or U.S. consulate, and USCIS or CBP grants TN status directly to you.
Which roles at Sodexo typically qualify for TN admission?
Sodexo's strongest TN fit is in roles that map directly to USMCA professions: registered dietitians, food scientists, and certain management consultant positions within its healthcare and corporate services divisions. General food service worker and hourly kitchen roles don't qualify for TN because they don't appear on the USMCA occupations list.
How do I start the TN process after receiving a Sodexo offer?
Once Sodexo issues your offer letter, Canadian nationals can present it directly at a U.S. port of entry with proof of citizenship, credentials, and the letter confirming your USMCA profession category and job duties. Mexican nationals schedule a visa interview at a U.S. consulate first. No USCIS petition is filed by Sodexo in either case.
How long does TN admission take when working with Sodexo?
For Canadian nationals, admission at a port of entry is typically processed the same day. Mexican nationals wait on consular appointment availability, which varies by location and season but often runs several weeks. Sodexo's offer letter preparation is usually the fastest part. Building in two to four weeks from offer to start date is a reasonable baseline for Canadians.
How do I find Sodexo TN jobs that match my occupation?
Migrate Mate filters Sodexo's open positions by TN visa eligibility so you can identify roles in the healthcare food service or corporate dining divisions where TN admission has been supported. Cross-check any role you find against O*NET to confirm the occupation aligns with your degree and the USMCA professions list before you apply.
How does TN visa admission work at Sodexo?
TN status is granted under the USMCA treaty — there is no USCIS petition or Labor Condition Application required. Canadian citizens can apply directly at a U.S. port of entry with an offer letter from Sodexo, while Mexican citizens must first obtain a TN visa at a U.S. consulate. The role must match one of the professions listed in USMCA Appendix 1603.D.1. Migrate Mate filters TN job listings to roles that fall within the eligible profession list.
