Match your credentials to USMCA profession categories
Spirit AeroSystems hires heavily in aerospace engineering and related technical disciplines. Before applying, confirm your degree and job title map to a recognized USMCA profession category. A mismatch at the border is harder to fix than catching it during your job search.
Target structural and systems engineering openings
Spirit AeroSystems's core work involves fuselage structures, aerostructures, and systems integration. Roles in stress analysis, structural design, and manufacturing engineering align directly with TN-eligible occupations. Filtering your search to these disciplines improves your odds of landing a TN-compatible offer.
Request a specific offer letter from HR
Your TN admission depends entirely on Spirit AeroSystems issuing an offer letter that states your job title, USMCA profession category, and employment duration. Ask HR explicitly for these details early. A vague letter describing only duties, without the profession classification, can cause a border delay.
Prepare for port-of-entry admission as a Canadian
Canadian nationals present their Spirit AeroSystems offer letter, credentials, and passport directly at a U.S. port of entry. No consulate appointment is needed. Bring original degree transcripts and professional credentials because CBP officers may verify your qualifications against the USMCA profession list on the spot.
Use Migrate Mate to find Spirit AeroSystems TN roles
Migrate Mate surfaces TN-relevant openings at companies like Spirit AeroSystems filtered by visa type and occupation. Search by TN profession category to identify active roles before applying directly. This saves time compared to scanning general job boards that don't flag TN compatibility.
Benchmark your salary against OFLC Wage Search data
Spirit AeroSystems operates in a competitive aerospace labor market where engineering salaries vary by location and seniority. Run your role and work location through the OFLC Wage Search before negotiating. Understanding prevailing wage levels in Wichita or Tulsa gives you a realistic benchmark during offer discussions.
Spirit AeroSystems TN Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Spirit AeroSystems sponsor TN visas?
Yes, Spirit AeroSystems supports TN admission for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying roles. TN is treaty-based under USMCA, so Spirit AeroSystems doesn't file a petition. Instead, the company issues an offer letter that you present at the U.S. border or consulate. Eligible roles are limited to USMCA-listed professions, which include many engineering and technical occupations Spirit AeroSystems regularly hires for.
Which roles at Spirit AeroSystems typically qualify for TN admission?
Engineering disciplines see the most TN-compatible openings at Spirit AeroSystems, including structural engineers, systems engineers, manufacturing engineers, and quality engineers. Computer systems analysts and accountants in supporting functions may also qualify. The role must map to a recognized USMCA profession category, and your degree must be in a directly related field.
How do I start the TN process after receiving an offer from Spirit AeroSystems?
Once Spirit AeroSystems extends a formal offer, ask HR to provide a detailed offer letter specifying your job title, USMCA profession category, and intended employment period. Canadian nationals then present this letter at a U.S. port of entry. Mexican nationals schedule a visa interview at a U.S. consulate. No USCIS petition is involved in either case.
How long does TN admission take when starting at Spirit AeroSystems?
Canadian nationals can be admitted the same day they present at the border with complete documents, making the timeline very short once the offer letter is in hand. Mexican nationals need to schedule a consular appointment, which adds weeks depending on consulate availability. Spirit AeroSystems's offer letter is a prerequisite for both processes, so start the document request early.
How do I find open TN-compatible jobs at Spirit AeroSystems?
Migrate Mate lets you filter job listings by visa type, including TN, so you can identify Spirit AeroSystems openings that align with USMCA profession categories without manually reviewing every posting. You can also search Spirit AeroSystems's careers page directly and cross-reference job titles against the USMCA professions list to confirm TN eligibility before applying.
How does TN visa admission work at Spirit AeroSystems?
TN status is granted under the USMCA treaty — there is no USCIS petition or Labor Condition Application required. Canadian citizens can apply directly at a U.S. port of entry with an offer letter from Spirit AeroSystems, while Mexican citizens must first obtain a TN visa at a U.S. consulate. The role must match one of the professions listed in USMCA Appendix 1603.D.1. Migrate Mate filters TN job listings to roles that fall within the eligible profession list.
