Match your occupation to USMCA categories
TN eligibility depends on your specific job title mapping to a recognized USMCA profession. Cross-reference your target Stryker role against the official USMCA professions list and confirm the O*NET occupation profile aligns before you apply.
Target Stryker's technical and scientific divisions
Stryker's strongest TN hiring concentrates in biomedical engineering, quality assurance, regulatory affairs, and clinical education. Focusing your search on these teams improves your odds of landing a role where TN admission is a well-understood and supported path.
Request a detailed offer letter early
Stryker's offer letter must specify your job title, duties, required credentials, salary, and employment duration. Ask your recruiter explicitly for a TN-specific letter before your border appointment or consulate interview, since missing details cause preventable admission delays.
Prepare credentials that prove specialty-level qualifications
CBP officers at the port of entry assess whether your degree directly supports your Stryker role. Bring sealed transcripts, credential evaluations for international degrees, and any professional licenses relevant to medical devices roles like biomedical engineering or scientific research.
Use Migrate Mate to find Stryker TN roles
Search Migrate Mate to identify current Stryker openings verified for TN-eligible occupations. Filtering by visa type upfront saves time spent pursuing roles in departments where Stryker's hiring patterns don't align with USMCA profession categories or specialty-level requirements.
Understand Stryker's renewal and status change options
TN status is granted in three-year increments with no cap on renewals, letting you build a long-term career at Stryker. If your role evolves into an H-1B or permanent-residence track, Stryker's immigration team typically coordinates the transition through existing HR processes.
Stryker TN Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Stryker sponsor TN visas?
Yes. Stryker supports TN admission for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying USMCA occupations. Rather than filing a petition, Stryker issues a support letter that you present at the port of entry or U.S. consulate. Roles in engineering, scientific research, regulatory affairs, and clinical education are the most common TN-supported positions at Stryker.
Which Stryker departments typically hire TN professionals?
Stryker's product development, quality and regulatory, field clinical engineering, and scientific research teams hire most frequently under TN-eligible occupation categories. These divisions map closely to USMCA professions such as engineer, scientist, and computer systems analyst, making them the strongest starting points for TN candidates.
How do I apply for a TN role at Stryker as a Canadian or Mexican national?
Apply through Stryker's careers site and disclose your TN intent during the offer stage. Stryker will issue a detailed offer letter covering your title, duties, required degree, and salary. Canadians present that letter at a port of entry for same-day CBP adjudication. Mexicans schedule a consulate interview through the U.S. embassy in Mexico.
How long does the TN process take when working with Stryker?
Canadian applicants entering at the border typically receive a CBP decision the same day, so the practical timeline is largely driven by how quickly Stryker finalizes and issues the offer letter. Mexican nationals face additional consulate scheduling time. Use Migrate Mate to identify Stryker openings early so you have lead time before your target start date.
Can I transition from TN status to an H-1B or Green Card at Stryker?
Yes. TN status doesn't prevent Stryker from later sponsoring you for an H-1B visa or employment-based Green Card, though TN is a nonimmigrant status and doesn't itself demonstrate immigrant intent. Stryker has established immigration processes that support long-tenured TN employees pursuing permanent residence through EB-2 or EB-3 pathways.
How does TN visa admission work at Stryker?
TN status is granted under the USMCA treaty — there is no USCIS petition or Labor Condition Application required. Canadian citizens can apply directly at a U.S. port of entry with an offer letter from Stryker, while Mexican citizens must first obtain a TN visa at a U.S. consulate. The role must match one of the professions listed in USMCA Appendix 1603.D.1. Migrate Mate filters TN job listings to roles that fall within the eligible profession list.
