Match your credentials to USMCA professions
TN eligibility is defined by the USMCA professions list, not by job title alone. Cross-reference your degree and intended role against the list before applying to Mosaic. Engineers, chemists, geologists, and computer systems analysts are the categories most relevant to its operations.
Target roles in mining operations and engineering
Mosaic's core business spans potash and phosphate mining, which means its TN hires concentrate in process engineering, environmental science, and geology. Filtering your search to these technical functions increases the likelihood your role will qualify under a recognized USMCA profession category.
Request a detailed offer letter before crossing
Canadians present their offer letter at the port of entry, so the document must specify your USMCA profession category, employer details, and intended duration of employment. A vague or incomplete letter from Mosaic's HR team is the most common reason for a CBP delay or denial.
Verify your degree aligns with the offered role
CBP officers assess whether your academic credential directly supports the profession listed on your offer letter. A chemistry or chemical engineering degree supports a process chemist role at Mosaic, but a general science degree may not satisfy the specialty requirement for the same position.
Search Mosaic openings through Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to identify Mosaic Company roles with confirmed TN sponsorship history. Filtering by employer and visa type surfaces active openings in engineering and sciences, so you're targeting positions where Mosaic has already demonstrated willingness to support TN admission for that function.
Prepare for status-based questions at renewal
TN status is granted in up to three-year increments with no statutory limit on renewals, but CBP or consular officers may scrutinize long-term TN holders for immigrant intent. Document that your role at Mosaic remains temporary and nonimmigrant in nature each time you renew or re-enter.
The Mosaic Company TN Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does The Mosaic Company sponsor TN visas?
Yes. The Mosaic Company supports TN admission for Canadian and Mexican nationals by issuing offer letters tied to qualifying USMCA professions. Because TN is treaty-based, there's no USCIS petition involved. The worker presents the offer letter at the port of entry or U.S. consulate to obtain TN status directly.
Which roles at The Mosaic Company typically qualify for TN status?
Mosaic's mining and fertilizer operations create demand for professionals in process engineering, environmental science, geology, chemistry, and computer systems. These map directly to recognized USMCA profession categories. Roles outside those technical functions, such as general operations or administrative positions, are less likely to meet TN eligibility criteria.
How do I apply for TN status with a Mosaic job offer?
Canadian citizens present their Mosaic offer letter, proof of citizenship, and credential documentation at a U.S. land border or preclearance airport. Mexican nationals apply at a U.S. consulate abroad. Neither route involves USCIS or an employer petition. Mosaic's HR team should confirm the USMCA profession category in writing before you travel.
How long does the TN process take when starting at The Mosaic Company?
For Canadian citizens, CBP typically adjudicates TN admission on the same day at the port of entry. Mexican nationals face longer waits tied to U.S. consulate scheduling in their country. Once admitted, TN status is granted for up to three years and can be renewed indefinitely while you remain employed at Mosaic.
How do I find open TN-eligible positions at The Mosaic Company?
Migrate Mate filters Mosaic Company listings by visa type so you can identify roles where TN sponsorship has been supported historically. Focus your search on engineering, science, and technical departments. Before applying, confirm your specific degree and profession category match a USMCA-listed occupation to avoid pursuing roles that won't qualify.
How does TN visa admission work at The Mosaic Company?
TN status is granted under the USMCA treaty — there is no USCIS petition or Labor Condition Application required. Canadian citizens can apply directly at a U.S. port of entry with an offer letter from The Mosaic Company, while Mexican citizens must first obtain a TN visa at a U.S. consulate. The role must match one of the professions listed in USMCA Appendix 1603.D.1. Migrate Mate filters TN job listings to roles that fall within the eligible profession list.
