Match your credentials to USMCA professions
TN admission at Traylor Bros. is limited to roles on the USMCA professions list. Confirm your occupation qualifies before applying. Engineers, geologists, and computer systems analysts are among the most relevant categories for heavy civil construction work.
Target infrastructure and project engineering roles
Traylor Bros. builds tunnels, bridges, and marine structures. Your strongest TN fit is in civil, geotechnical, or structural engineering roles tied to active project bids. Applying to project-based openings increases your chances of an employer ready to issue an offer letter promptly.
Request a detailed offer letter early
Traylor Bros. provides the support letter you'll present at the border or consulate. Ask your recruiter to include your job title mapped to the USMCA profession category, your degree requirement, and your project assignment. Vague letters are the most common cause of TN delays.
Use Migrate Mate to identify verified TN-supporting employers
Before committing time to Traylor Bros., confirm it actively supports TN admission for your specific occupation. Migrate Mate surfaces employer visa-sponsorship history so you can target companies where your role and nationality are a proven match, not a first attempt.
Prepare for Canadian border admission in one visit
Canadian citizens apply for TN status directly at a U.S. port of entry with no advance petition required. Bring your offer letter, degree transcripts, and professional license if your occupation requires one. CBP officers can approve TN status on the spot, so your documents must be complete.
Verify your wage aligns with DOL prevailing rates
Construction employers must offer wages that meet or exceed the prevailing wage for your occupation and work location. Use the OFLC Wage Search to check the rate before your interview. If your offered salary falls below the published threshold, negotiate before accepting the offer letter.
