Match your credentials to USMCA professions
TN admission is limited to roles explicitly listed in the USMCA professions annex. Before applying to Veolia, verify your occupation, such as engineer, chemist, or scientist, maps to an approved category. A mismatch at the border means denial regardless of Veolia's support.
Target Veolia's technical and engineering divisions
Veolia's strongest TN hiring sits in environmental engineering, process chemistry, and industrial operations. Filter your job search to these departments, where the role descriptions typically align cleanly with USMCA profession requirements and where Veolia's hiring managers understand TN admission.
Request a detailed offer letter early
Veolia's offer letter must specify your job title, duties, USMCA profession category, salary, and employment period. Ask HR to confirm all five elements before you travel, since a vague letter is the most common reason a CBP officer questions a TN candidate at the port of entry.
Benchmark your salary against prevailing wage data
Use the OFLC Wage Search to check the prevailing wage for your role and location before negotiating your Veolia offer. Accepting a salary significantly below the wage level for your occupation and region can create complications during future TN renewals or if you transition to H-1B visa sponsorship later.
Use Migrate Mate to identify Veolia's active TN roles
Search Veolia's current openings filtered by TN-eligible occupation on Migrate Mate, which surfaces roles based on DOL Labor Condition Application data. This lets you prioritize positions in departments where TN professionals have already been placed, reducing uncertainty about internal approval processes.
Prepare discipline-specific credential evidence
Veolia's hiring managers in waste and water services routinely work with environmental engineers and scientists whose degrees come from non-U.S. institutions. Have a credential evaluation ready that confirms your degree equivalency, and cross-reference your occupation's educational requirements using O*NET before your border appointment.
Veolia TN Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Veolia sponsor TN visas?
Yes, Veolia supports TN admission for qualified Canadian and Mexican professionals in roles that fall under USMCA profession categories, including engineering, environmental science, and chemistry. Veolia issues the offer letter you present at the border or consulate. There is no USCIS petition involved, and Veolia does not file anything on your behalf.
Which Veolia departments typically hire TN professionals?
TN candidates at Veolia most commonly land roles in environmental engineering, water treatment operations, industrial process chemistry, and health and safety. These departments align most cleanly with USMCA profession categories. Corporate functions like finance or HR rarely produce TN-eligible roles because the required degree-to-occupation match is harder to establish.
How do I start the TN process after receiving a Veolia offer?
Once you have a written offer, ask Veolia HR to prepare a support letter specifying your USMCA profession category, job duties, degree requirement, salary, and employment duration. Canadian citizens present this letter directly at a U.S. port of entry. Mexican nationals schedule a consular interview at a U.S. Embassy or consulate in Mexico first.
How long does TN admission take when working with Veolia?
Canadian citizens typically receive a TN admission decision within hours at the port of entry, assuming documentation is complete. Mexican nationals face longer timelines because a consular appointment is required, which can add days to weeks depending on the consulate's availability. Neither path involves USCIS processing times or a lottery.
How do I find TN-eligible jobs currently open at Veolia?
Migrate Mate filters Veolia's job listings by visa type and DOL filing history, making it easier to identify which roles in Veolia's waste and environmental services divisions are realistically open to TN professionals. Applying directly to roles where Veolia has prior experience with TN admission significantly improves your chances of a smooth process.
How does TN visa admission work at Veolia?
TN status is granted under the USMCA treaty — there is no USCIS petition or Labor Condition Application required. Canadian citizens can apply directly at a U.S. port of entry with an offer letter from Veolia, while Mexican citizens must first obtain a TN visa at a U.S. consulate. The role must match one of the professions listed in USMCA Appendix 1603.D.1. Migrate Mate filters TN job listings to roles that fall within the eligible profession list.
