- Lead engineering change implementation with vendors and contract manufacturers, ensuring clear communication and seamless integration into production
- Define and lead DOE and validation strategies to optimize product and manufacturing performance
- Lead root cause investigations and drive resolution of quality, yield, and reliability issues in production
- Own and maintain CAD models and technical documentation (3D, 2D, BOMs, ECOs) to support design changes, validation, and high-volume manufacturing
- Mentor junior engineers and promote strong engineering best practices
- Travel internationally up to 20% to support manufacturing partners and production builds
Qualifications
- BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in the design, improvement, and sustaining of complex mechanical products, preferably in consumer electronics, wearables, or medical devices
- 4+ years of SolidWorks CAD experience with best practices in part design, tolerance analysis, advanced assemblies, configuration management, and integration of DFx/DfM feedback
- 3+ years of experience working with Tier 1 and 2 contract manufacturers, including driving engineering changes and sustaining production in Asia and North America
- Demonstrated experience with high-volume manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, die casting, automated assembly), with a focus on yield, reliability, and cost optimization
- Strong experience in root cause analysis, failure investigation, and implementing design or process improvements in production environments
- Hands-on experience with prototyping and validation to support design changes and production improvements, along with experience in second sourcing, supplier qualification
- Experience leading cross-functional efforts and mentoring junior engineers
- Preferred experience with electromechanical systems, including integration of mechanical components with sensors, PCBs, and flex circuits in compact, high-volume products
- Experience developing and scaling automated test systems, complex fixtures, or production validation infrastructure preferred
- Preferred experience in wearable, health-focused, or other highly constrained consumer electronic products
- Experience leading engineering efforts in fast-paced or startup environments with high ownership and cross-functional influence

Map your credentials to USMCA categories
Before applying, verify your degree and job title match a recognized USMCA profession. WHOOP fills technical roles in areas like systems design and scientific research, so cross-reference your field against the official USMCA professions list to confirm TN eligibility before you pursue an offer.
Target roles that match TN-eligible occupations
WHOOP's science and research teams hire data scientists, biomedical engineers, and software developers, all of which have clear USMCA profession equivalents. Search job postings for degree requirements listed in those categories, since roles requiring a bachelor's in a directly related field are the cleanest TN fits.
Use Migrate Mate to identify WHOOP's active roles
Migrate Mate filters WHOOP's open positions by visa type, so you can find current roles that align with TN-eligible occupations without manually reviewing every posting. This saves time and surfaces opportunities matched to your credentials and authorization type before you begin outreach.
Request a detailed offer letter covering TN requirements
WHOOP's offer letter must specify your job title, duties, proposed length of employment, and your professional credentials. For Canadian nationals presenting at the border, a letter that maps your role to a USMCA profession reduces officer questions and speeds up the port-of-entry review significantly.
Prepare your credential documentation before the interview
Compile your degree transcripts, any professional licenses, and a CV that aligns your experience to your USMCA profession category. For biomedical or research roles at WHOOP, reviewers often scrutinize whether your educational background directly supports the specific scientific duties outlined in the offer letter.
Understand the port-of-entry versus consulate process
Canadian nationals can request TN admission directly at a U.S. land border or airport port of entry. Mexican nationals must apply at a U.S. consulate in advance. Confirm which pathway applies to you before your WHOOP start date, since timelines and required documents differ significantly between the two routes.
WHOOP TN Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does WHOOP sponsor TN visas?
Yes, WHOOP supports TN admission for Canadian and Mexican nationals in roles that qualify under the USMCA professions list. Rather than filing a petition, WHOOP issues an offer letter that the worker presents at a U.S. port of entry or consulate. Eligible roles typically fall in science, engineering, and technology disciplines that align with WHOOP's research focus.
Which departments at WHOOP typically hire TN professionals?
WHOOP's data science, biomedical engineering, and software development teams most commonly align with USMCA-eligible professions. Research and product teams working on physiological monitoring and performance analytics tend to hire roles that map cleanly to categories such as engineer, scientist, and computer systems analyst. Positions requiring a directly related bachelor's degree are the strongest TN fits.
How do I navigate the TN process after receiving a WHOOP offer?
After accepting an offer, WHOOP issues a support letter documenting your role, duties, and credentials. Canadian nationals present this letter alongside proof of citizenship and degree credentials directly at a U.S. port of entry. Mexican nationals schedule a consular appointment. No USCIS petition is involved. Migrate Mate can help you confirm your role qualifies and prepare your documentation package.
How long does the TN process take for a WHOOP role?
For Canadian nationals, TN admission at the border typically takes a few hours on the day of travel, assuming documentation is complete. Mexican nationals applying at a consulate should account for appointment scheduling, which can add several weeks depending on consulate workload. WHOOP's offer letter needs to be finalized before either pathway can begin, so factor in internal onboarding timelines.
How do I confirm my WHOOP job title qualifies for TN status?
Cross-reference your offered job title and duties against the official USMCA TN professions list, which specifies qualifying occupation categories and required credentials. For WHOOP roles, titles like data scientist, biomedical engineer, or software engineer typically qualify when paired with a relevant degree. O*NET can help confirm how your role's duties align with a recognized USMCA profession category.
How does TN visa admission work at WHOOP?
TN status is granted under the USMCA treaty — there is no USCIS petition or Labor Condition Application required. Canadian citizens can apply directly at a U.S. port of entry with an offer letter from WHOOP, while Mexican citizens must first obtain a TN visa at a U.S. consulate. The role must match one of the professions listed in USMCA Appendix 1603.D.1. Migrate Mate filters TN job listings to roles that fall within the eligible profession list.
