DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a leader to drive the overall international Compliance Seller Experience (SX) and performance for U.S. merchants. The ideal candidate is passionate about entrepreneurship and motivated to make a meaningful impact on global customers and sellers in a Day 1 business.
Our mission is to expand the successful footprint of North American sellers globally through sales excellence and scalable, automated compliance solutions. While we are already a multi-billion-dollar business, we are still in the early stages—only a small portion of NA sellers have begun their international journey. International compliance represents both our greatest opportunity and our biggest challenge.
This role offers a unique opportunity to innovate and elevate the end-to-end merchant, seller, and customer experience in compliance on a global scale.
Success in this role requires strong ownership, the ability to Think Big, and a Bias for Action. The leader must be comfortable diving deep into complex data, making high-quality decisions with limited information (Are Right, A Lot), and influencing cross-functional stakeholders (Earn Trust). This includes close collaboration with central and worldwide regional compliance teams, as well as external partners such as sellers and service providers.
You will be responsible for driving both short-term program execution and long-term scalable solutions in partnership with product and program teams. Strong documentation and communication skills are essential to gain alignment and accelerate decision-making. We are building a team that thrives in ambiguity, moves quickly, experiments often, and understands global sales operations while engaging leadership to prioritize effectively.
The ideal candidate demonstrates high ownership, operates autonomously, delivers early wins, and builds long-term automated solutions. This role is a strong pathway to becoming a next-generation leader in global eCommerce.
Key job responsibilities
- Own and drive the overall international compliance Seller Experience (SX) and performance for U.S. merchants.
- Balance short-term execution with long-term strategy—addressing immediate compliance issues while building scalable product solutions.
- Partner with NA Central, EU, JP, and Emerging Markets compliance teams to proactively mitigate risks related to product, tax, labeling, and trade compliance across regions.
- Develop and implement solutions both internally and through external service providers to streamline compliance processes.
- Lead end-to-end compliance strategy for high-growth segments (e.g., US HPC), unlocking new international expansion opportunities.
- Identify global compliance challenges and translate insights into scalable product and program solutions.
- Collaborate with worldwide stakeholders to standardize and improve compliance processes, including: Increasing clarity of internal and external compliance requirements. Improving SLA and reducing costs.
- Leverage learnings from short-term solutions to inform long-term product development and automation strategies.
A day in the life
Reporting directly to the head of US global selling, you'll collaborate with sales operations, product, program, and worldwide local leadership teams. Spend 50% of your time as a deep thinker, diving into complex data, gathering insights, and crafting impactful proposals. This role demands big-picture thinking alongside meticulous attention to detail, ensuring swift progress towards our long-term vision. The other 50% is dedicated to developing GTM plans, executing short-term growth strategies, and collaborating on pilots with proper tracking while connecting it to the long-term product solution. Your ability to connect the dots between short-term learning and long-term product development or program will be key to our success.
About the team
Join the US Global Selling Center, where we own the full business lifecycle of North American sellers expanding into 19 global marketplaces. Compliance Lead Jobs in Seattle: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a compliance lead job in Seattle?
Your best entry point in Seattle is targeting the city's dominant sectors: financial services firms clustered downtown, healthcare systems based in First Hill and Capitol Hill, and technology companies in South Lake Union. Candidates who stand out typically combine regulatory expertise with familiarity with Washington State's financial and healthcare regulators, along with experience managing cross-functional compliance programs rather than just auditing.
Which companies hire compliance leads in Seattle?
Companies currently hiring compliance leads in Seattle include Amazon, Amazon Web Services, and Nordstrom, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Seattle's hiring mix tends to skew toward large financial institutions, regional health systems, and publicly traded technology firms, all of which maintain dedicated compliance functions.
Are there remote compliance lead jobs in Seattle?
Yes, though availability depends heavily on the function, policy-focused and risk analytics roles are more remote-friendly than positions requiring on-site oversight of operations or physical audits. About 33% of compliance lead openings tied to Seattle are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting broader flexibility across the technology and financial services sectors. Policy, monitoring, and reporting responsibilities tend to be the most commonly offered in remote arrangements locally.
How can I get a compliance lead job in Seattle with little or no experience?
The most realistic path in Seattle is moving laterally from a risk, legal, or operations analyst role at one of the city's large financial institutions or regional health systems, which regularly hire coordinators and junior compliance analysts as feeders into lead positions. Regional banks, insurance carriers based in Bellevue, and mid-size healthcare organizations are more likely than large tech firms to hire candidates still building a compliance resume. Earning a CRCM or CCB certification while in an entry role significantly accelerates progression in Seattle's financial sector.
Which industries hire the most compliance leads in Seattle?
Most compliance lead openings in Seattle sit in Retail, E-Commerce & Online Marketplaces, and Technology & Software, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Seattle's position as a hub for cloud technology companies, regional banking, and major health systems creates sustained, year-round demand for compliance professionals across all three sectors.
