Entry Level Data Center Manager Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level data center manager job?
Entry level data center manager roles typically look for candidates with a degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field, though internship experience and certifications like CompTIA Server+ or a data center associate credential can give you a real edge. Employers at this level also value hands-on exposure to physical infrastructure, cooling systems, or network hardware, even if that experience came from a lab, co-op, or personal project.
Which companies hire entry level data center managers?
Companies hiring entry level data center managers right now include Amazon, Oracle, and GXO Logistics, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a mix of cloud and colocation providers, enterprise IT departments, and managed service companies that build junior talent into long-term operations roles.
Are there remote entry level data center manager jobs?
Yes, though most data center manager roles require at least some on-site presence given the physical nature of the work. About 12% of entry level data center manager openings are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those tend to lean toward coordination, monitoring, or vendor-management responsibilities rather than hands-on infrastructure work.
Are these new grad data center manager jobs?
Yes, many of the listings on this page are new grad and junior roles that welcome recent graduates and candidates with little to no professional experience. A new grad friendly posting typically welcomes zero to two years of experience, accepts internships or co-op work as qualifying background, or explicitly invites candidates who can demonstrate skills through a portfolio, lab project, or relevant coursework.
Which industries hire the most entry level data center managers?
Entry Level data center manager roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Retail, and E-Commerce & Online Marketplaces, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Those sectors drive hiring at this level because their infrastructure demands are high, their operations run around the clock, and they regularly build junior staff into the facility and systems management pipeline.
