JOB SUMMARY
The Executive Director of Cardiovascular Services at White River Health is responsible for providing leadership, strategic direction, and oversight of the Cardiac Cath Lab, Cardiac Pre/Post Unit, Non-Invasive Radiology, Cardiology Clinics, and Cardiac Rehab departments. The Executive Director ensures timely and equitable access to cardiovascular services, drives continuous improvement in quality and clinical excellence, and cultivates productive relationships with physicians, staff, patients, and community stakeholders. This role plays a crucial part in delivering high-quality cardiovascular care, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, implementing efficient processes, and fostering a culture of patient safety and excellence.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leadership and Strategic Planning
- Develop and implement strategic plans for Cardiovascular Services in alignment with the organization's mission and goals.

Provide visionary leadership to department managers and staff, fostering a collaborative, patient-centered, and high-performance environment.

Access to Care & Department Oversight
- Ensure timely access to cardiovascular diagnostic, interventional, and rehabilitative services.
- Oversee daily operations of the Cardiac Cath Lab, Cardiac Pre/Post Unit, Cardiology Clinics, and Cardiac Rehab departments.
- Implement efficient processes that support safe, high-quality, and financially sustainable care delivery.

Ensure effective utilization of personnel, equipment, and budgets.

Quality, Safety & Clinical Excellence
- Ensure all services meet or exceed established quality and safety standards.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on evidence-based practice, patient outcomes, and patient experience (including HCAHPS performance).

Maintain compliance with relevant regulatory agencies and accreditation bodies.

Stakeholder Engagement & Relationships
- Build and sustain productive, trust-based relationships with cardiologists, advanced practice providers, nursing, ancillary staff, and external partners.
- Facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration to align goals across the continuum of cardiovascular care.

Represent WRH in community partnerships and external agencies to strengthen reputation and referral networks.

Staff Development and Education
- Promote the professional growth and development of nursing and clinical staff.

Facilitate ongoing education and training to enhance expertise in cardiovascular care.

Financial Management & Growth
- Collaborate with finance and administration to develop and manage departmental budgets.
- Monitor financial performance, identify opportunities for cost containment and revenue enhancement, and develop business cases for new programs, technologies, and capital investments.

Ensure service line financial sustainability and growth.

Patient and Family Engagement
- Champion patient- and family-centered care, ensuring an exceptional and culturally sensitive patient experience.

Address patient concerns and complaints promptly and effectively.

Safety Sensitivity
- Recognize and adhere to safety protocols and procedures, as this position is safety sensitive.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
- Preferred: Master’s of Science in Nursing (MSN), Master’s in Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
- Current registered nursing license in the state of employment.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Preferred certifications: Certified Cardiovascular Registered Nurse (CVRN), Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN), AACVPR certification, or healthcare executive credential (ACHE/FACHE).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor of Science, preferred Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or related graduate degree with current RN licensure in the state of Arkansas.
- Current CPR/BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Proven leadership experience in cardiovascular services or a related clinical service line.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and engage a diverse healthcare team.
