Job Title: Health, Safety & Environmental Specialist
Reports To: Health, Safety & Environmental Manager
Job Summary: The HSE Specialist position will provide support in relation to all HSE matters, and ensuring compliance with all internal policies and external legal requirements. This position will be located at our Broken Arrow facility.
Job Duties:
- Works to ensure compliance with government laws, regulations and Zeeco policies
- Coordinates and executes safety and environmental programs to ensure practical, cost-effective measures are in place
- Provides support to internal and external customers, and other remote locations
- Develop, deliver, and maintain records for applicable HSE training
- Conducts safety and/or environmental audits, inspects facilities to ensure safe working environment, and compliance with the HSE management system
- Maintain a positive and proactive HSE culture through interaction
- Gather, track, and trend statistical information
- Interact with employees and area leadership to ensure safe work practices
- Support incident investigation process, including tracking of action item completion
- Perform, track, and/or facilitate all applicable HSE related inspections
- Aid in determining practical and cost-effective control measures for identified hazards
- Participate in monthly safety committee meetings
- Work with other support groups to add insight to applicable HSE requirements
- Work with vendors to maintain appropriate and cost effective HSE supplies
- Other duties as assigned
- Some travel may be required, less than 10% of the time
- Ability to provide support after hours as needed
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Health, Safety, and Environmental or similar is preferred, or 5+ years of experience directly in the field of Health, Safety, and Environmental
- Thorough understanding of federal, state, and local health, safety, and environmental regulations and permitting requirements
- Strong environmental and industrial hygiene background preferred
- Experience in an industrial fabrication, or manufacturing environment preferred
- 1st aid, CPR, AED, certification/experience preferred
- Experience in providing remote support
- Experience and/or knowledge with waste handling requirements
- Familiar with hazard analysis process and mitigation techniques
- Proficient in basic application software systems (Word, Excel, Project, Outlook)
- Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and facilitation skills

- Must be able to do unaccompanied travel
- Must be able to tolerate shop environment and exposures associated with welding and industrial equipment manufacturing, and apply appropriate safety equipment when required
- Must not present a risk of injury to self or others while engaged in company duties
