JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for servicing and building relationships with guests by paying hand-pay jackpots, exchanging currency, and performing minor repairs on historical horse racing (HHR) machines. Additionally, the Game Room Attendant is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and optimum presentation of the facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides next-level guest service to internal and external guests. Demonstrates #AddLife culture in all interactions with guests and co-workers.
- Protects company assets by adhering to company policies and all state and regulatory compliance including but not limited to, internal controls, policies and procedures, and responsible gaming.
- Maintains the electronic components, systems, and peripherals of HHR machines; performs preventive maintenance on HHR Machines.
- Ensures gaming devices are operating properly; promptly calls for technical or supervisory assistance when necessary.
- Performs minor repair to HHR machines.
- Promotes the players’ card and assists with obtaining reprints; and will help meet set goals for players’ card signups.
- Changes ticket paper and writes up jackpot forms correctly.
- Notifies Game Room Managers of irregularities in customers’ play.
- Responsible for general cleaning such as carpets, windows, gaming machines, and restrooms.
- Follows checklists and guidelines and adheres to OSHA and Hazcom safe work practices for efficient and clean operation of assigned areas in the Game Room.
- Maintains complete confidentiality of company and guest information.
- Maintains knowledge of gaming laws/racing regulations, and company policies to ensure adherence to all safety protocols and procedures.
- Resolves problems that are within the position's scope of authority and recommends courses of action to resolve problems that are beyond the scope of authority to director.
- Keeps the position supervisor informed of relevant activities.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to multitask in a high-volume environment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Six (6) months to one (1) year experience or related field.
- Cash handling skills strongly preferred.
- Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- Must obtain and maintain a valid racing license.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS
- The Team Member will be required to stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
- While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger reach, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
- The Team Member may be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
- The Team Member may be required to work long hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
- The work environment may vary in levels of crowds, noise and flashing lights depending on the assigned station and guest volume.
