Responsibilities
- Discard inferior or defective potatoes or foreign matter
- Grade and sort potatoes according to factors such as color, length, width, appearance, feel, smell, disease, damage and quality to ensure correct processing and usage
- Record grade or identification numbers of products
- Take quality samples by loading a bucket with potatoes and providing to QC department for rating
- Communicate with supervisor on the quality of product being graded
- Alert supervisor if there are mechanical issues with the equipment and assist with light maintenance
- Perform general site cleanup, including sweeping, shoveling, washing, picking up potatoes
- Clean equipment with a brush, hose, broom etc. to keep the work area free of debris
- Position involves standing, using hands to grab materials, reaching and bending over a moving conveyer belt continuously
- Work conditions may involve working in a hot, dusty, or wet work environment
All tools will be provided at no cost.
