Job Summary:
The Project Engineer is responsible for providing technical expertise and support in the planning, design, and execution of construction and industrial services projects. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the successful implementation of AIS Infrastructure's infrastructure projects. The Project Engineer must possess a strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction practices, and project management. They are also required to adhere to AIS Infrastructure's safety standards and protocols.
We are looking for a Project Engineer to assist with projects in the Southeastern U.S. (mainly Georgia), so the project location is not in central Atlanta. This Project Engineer will need to be willing to travel to different assignments and project sites as needed, and will work in the Chattanooga, TN office on occasions as needed.
- Assist in the development and implementation of project plans, including scope, budget, and schedule.
- Conduct feasibility studies, site investigations, and assessments to evaluate project requirements and constraints.
- Prepare detailed engineering designs, specifications, and drawings.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities, to ensure project requirements are met.
- Monitor and inspect construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
- Work closely with quality control manager to ensure strict guidelines are adhered to.
Requirements and Education:
- Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance to access secure facilities, including military bases.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing and assisting with management of civil construction and/or public infrastructure projects.
Preferred Requirements and Education:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field highly preferred.
- Experience with quality control tasks on a heavy civil construction site. Any quality-related certifications are a big plus.
- Experience working with USACE and/or on NAVFAC projects is a big plus.
- Experience with industrial power plant projects and/or DOT projects is also a big plus.
- Knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction practices, and project management.
- Familiarity with relevant software and tools, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and project management software.
- Familiarity with relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations.
- Proficiency in construction project management.
- Strong technical knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices.
- Ability to effectively communicate complex engineering concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
- Ability to track submittals and complete RFIs, REAs, CORs, and CTCs.
Travel:
- Travel to different project sites will be required based on needs and project locations.
