This role is ideal for a student pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering with an interest in high-speed digital hardware design.
Responsibilities
- Assist in building and simulating power delivery network models using industry-standard tools (e.g., Ansys SIwave, Cadence Sigrity, or equivalent).
- Develop automation tools for PDN analysis.
- Support PDN impedance analysis and voltage margin analysis for multi-rail PCB designs.

Preferred Qualifications
- Coursework or project experience in power electronics, signal integrity, or electromagnetics.
- Exposure to tools such as Ansys SIwave, Cadence Sigrity PowerDC/PowerSI, or Keysight ADS.
- Experience with lab equipment: oscilloscopes, power supplies, network analyzers, or VNAs.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding J-1 Visa Sponsorship as a Power Bi Analyst
Document your Power BI project portfolio early
Designated sponsors evaluate training plans against your existing technical skills. Compile documented evidence of dashboards, DAX queries, and data model builds before approaching any sponsor or host employer. Gaps in your portfolio slow DS-2019 issuance.
Target host employers with structured analytics training programs
J-1 Trainee status requires a formal training plan, not just a job offer. Prioritize employers in financial services, healthcare analytics, and consulting who already run structured rotational or onboarding programs, since they can document the required learning objectives more easily.
Search Migrate Mate to find J-1-aligned analyst roles
Use Migrate Mate to filter Power BI Analyst positions at U.S. employers with exchange visitor sponsorship history. Reaching a host employer already familiar with J-1 host agreements cuts weeks from the offer-to-DS-2019 timeline.
Clarify the two-year home residency rule upfront
Certain J-1 participants from designated countries or government-funded programs must return home for two years before changing to H-1B or a green card. Confirm your funding source and nationality-based obligations with your designated sponsor before signing any offer letter.
Align your DS-2019 training plan to O*NET analyst competencies
Sponsors and consular officers expect your training objectives to match recognized occupational standards. Reference the O*NET profile for Business Intelligence Analysts when drafting your training plan to show measurable skill progression across the program duration.
Verify the host employer can sign a formal host agreement
Before accepting an offer, confirm the hiring company is willing to execute a host organization agreement with your designated sponsor. Smaller employers sometimes decline this obligation, which voids the placement regardless of the offer terms.

Find Power Bi Analyst JobsPower Bi Analyst J-1 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Which J-1 program category fits a Power BI Analyst role?
Current students or recent graduates typically qualify under the Intern category, while early-career professionals with at least one year of post-degree work experience use the Trainee category. Trainee is the more common path for Power BI Analyst placements because the role requires applied professional experience, not academic enrollment. Research Scholar applies only to academic or scientific research contexts, which most commercial BI roles do not meet.
Who actually sponsors my J-1 visa as a Power BI Analyst?
Your J-1 visa sponsor is a U.S. Department of State-designated organization, such as Cultural Vistas, AIPT, or CIEE, that issues your DS-2019 form and monitors program compliance. Your hiring employer is the host organization, not the visa sponsor. These are separate entities with separate roles. Conflating them often causes confusion during the offer stage, so clarify both relationships before you sign anything.
Can I use Migrate Mate to find Power BI Analyst positions with J-1 host employers?
Yes. Migrate Mate lets you search Power BI Analyst roles filtered by employers with J-1 exchange visitor sponsorship experience. Finding a host employer already familiar with the DS-2019 process and host organization agreement requirements reduces back-and-forth during the offer stage and shortens your overall timeline to program start.
Does my Power BI Analyst training plan need to cover specific technical skills?
Your designated sponsor requires a structured training plan that documents measurable learning objectives, not just a list of daily tasks. For Power BI Analyst placements, this typically means specifying progression in data modeling, DAX formula development, Power Query transformations, and reporting best practices. Vague plans are a common reason sponsors delay or decline DS-2019 issuance, so tie each objective to a defined phase of your program.
Does a J-1 Trainee placement as a Power BI Analyst affect future H-1B eligibility?
Completing a J-1 Trainee program does not bar you from later applying for H-1B status, but the two-year home residency requirement can delay the transition if it applies to you. This requirement is triggered by government financing, certain nationality designations, or skills on the Exchange Visitor Skills List. Confirm your specific situation with your designated sponsor during the DS-2019 application process, before accepting your host employer offer.
