Licensed Practical Nurse Jobs in Grand Rapids: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a licensed practical nurse job in Grand Rapids?
Focus your search on Grand Rapids' Medical Mile, which anchors the city's largest hospital systems, and on the long-term care facilities spread across the southeastern suburbs. Home health agencies and outpatient clinics in the Eastown and Wealthy Street corridors also hire consistently. Candidates with experience in geriatric care or IV therapy tend to stand out, and familiarity with Epic EMR is a practical advantage across most Grand Rapids employers.
Which companies hire licensed practical nurses in Grand Rapids?
Grand Rapids licensed practical nurse roles are posted by Holland Home, Corewell Health, and Interim HealthCare and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of November 2026. The local market is anchored by large integrated health systems alongside a dense network of skilled nursing facilities and home health agencies serving Kent County and surrounding communities.
Are there remote licensed practical nurse jobs in Grand Rapids?
Remote work is uncommon for licensed practical nurses because the role is almost entirely hands-on and patient-facing. About 67% of licensed practical nurse openings tied to Grand Rapids are remote or hybrid as of November 2026, and those positions are typically limited to telephonic case management or insurance utilization review roles rather than direct clinical care.
How can I get a licensed practical nurse job in Grand Rapids with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Grand Rapids is through skilled nursing facilities and assisted living communities, which regularly hire new graduates and are concentrated in the suburbs east and south of the city. Many local long-term care employers offer paid orientation and mentor pairing. Completing a clinical rotation at a Grand Rapids facility is a genuine advantage, as it builds a reference network before you apply for your first paid position.
