Job Summary
Responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of various types of medical equipment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Schedules for the repair and maintenance of assigned medical equipment
- Reads blueprints, plans, and documents to determine requirements for equipment installation, operation, and repair
- Installs new medical equipment and repairs existing equipment
- Performs timely preventative maintenance tasks and electrical safety checks
- Maintains computerized preventive maintenance system and produces reports
- Uses test equipment to diagnose problems and verify proper operation
- Maintains test and repair equipment
- Submits requests for repair supplies
- Works with manufacturers and vendors to obtain technical information and parts
- Assists with training personnel on use and operation of medical equipment
- Maintains clean, orderly, and safe work areas
- Maintains department policies, procedures, and quality standards
- Informs management of equipment issues
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Two-year degree in electronics technology, biomedical electronics, or equivalent training; BMET or CBET certification preferred; Three years of relevant biomedical or electronic experience, preferably in healthcare.
Physical Requirements
Heavy physical effort (lift and carry up to 50 pounds); Prolonged standing and sitting; Pushes, pulls, moves, and lifts heavy equipment and supplies; Manual dexterity and mobility required. All candidates must be able to perform essential functions. ADA accommodations provided as needed.
