Role Profile
In this fast-moving, analytical and critical role, the Pricing Analyst will be part of the Specialty Plastics Product & Pricing Management team responsible for determining the optimal pricing for various products based on a variety of factors. This role will use mathematics and statistics to understand pricing and will analyze pricing data from industry standards, previous sales trends and competitors and provide pricing recommendations that meet the customer and business needs. The Pricing Analyst's work is intimately aligned with the business, customer, and market strategies to maximize value creation and value capture. This role requires cross-functional coordination and communication for efficient and effective execution of product and market strategies through the Commercial team, including Sales, Marketing and Customer Service.
Responsibilities
- Understand all pricing-related processes, including strategic pricing practices (e.g. Price Bands, Value in Use vs Competitive Alternatives, etc.)
- Analyze market trends and provide insight into the competitive landscape
- Monitor and respond to support requests from Customer Service Representatives, Regional Pricing Analysts and all other business partners for all Pricing related issues in various pricing systems
- Create and update Formula Pricing records
- Execute retroactive price adjustments and true-ups
- Resolve price discrepancies
- Implementation of Eastman's pricing-related processes
- Proficient in the use of Vendavo, SAP and SalesForce for pricing applications
- Create and update approved competitive pricing
- Partner with Product and/or Pricing Manager to provide timely price quotes for new business
- Execute mass pricing actions

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; business-related degree preferred
- 2+ years' prior work experience in an analytical or customer-facing role; preferably in sales, marketing, product management, pricing and/or supply chain
- Minimum of one year of experience troubleshooting price and pricing application system(s) (e.g. Vendavo, SAP) workflow and technical issues is preferred
- Capability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and projects simultaneously; prior project management experience preferred
- Clear and effective written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills
- Strong attention to detail, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Initiative and the ability to work in a global team setting
- Ability to think and operate independently; independent problem solving
- Proficient use of standard software packages (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint)
- Capacity and desire for continual learning in Pricing and system tools
- Strong desire to collaborate and interface with many people
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills for problem solving and decision analysis
- Able to function in a matrixed organization.
