STRUCTURE
The Assistant Director, Project Management, Annual Leadership Giving (ALG), is an exempt (salaried) position employed by the University of Cincinnati Foundation and reports to the Senior Director, Annual Giving.
FOCUS
The Assistant Director’s primary focus is participating in the implementation of effective omnichannel marketing strategies to support the priorities of the University of Cincinnati Foundation’s Annual Leadership Giving efforts. This position will play a key role in advancing the university’s mass market digital fundraising strategies by leading innovative initiatives that inspire broad-based donor participation.
The ideal candidate will have experience in project management, digital engagement, and donor acquisition, with a passion for building communities through philanthropic support. The assistant director is a collaborative, creative, detail-driven brand and project manager who facilitates the use of technology and creative assets to help the Annual Leadership Giving team implement its fundraising strategy. The assistant director will collaborate on the execution of UC’s annual giving fundraising projects and communications, through digital and print direct marketing, copywriting, editing, branded promotional items, social media assets, website management and email marketing.
SPECIFIC DUTIES

In partnership with the Annual Leadership Giving team, facilitate the development and implementation of a best-in-class, comprehensive marketing and communications fundraising strategy.

Serve as the ALG team’s project manager, collaborative content creator and brand manager on a high-volume fundraising marketing team in the execution of a robust content calendar with a strong commitment to meeting deadlines, managing brand standards and engaging constituents.

Utilize project management software to monitor progress and track task completion for a high volume of marketing initiatives. Oversee the flow of projects, serving as a task manager to ensure the smooth execution of processes. Ensure that deadlines are met, budgets are aligned, and content follows the appropriate review and approval process.

Manage mass market omnichannel outreach (solicitations and stewardship), audience segmentation and analytics for Annual Leadership Giving efforts.

Oversee new AI-enabled fundraising tools.

Support audience development and reporting needs for the ALG team.

Manage mass-market stewardship efforts for ALG donors.

Giving Days and Crowdfunding:
-
Contribute to the planning, execution, and evaluation of two annual giving day campaigns, Giving Tuesday (fall) and UC Day of Giving (spring), ensuring alignment with overall annual giving goals.

Partner with internal units and campus/college partners to develop campaign themes, messaging, and strategies that drive participation and donor engagement.

Manage Impact UC crowdfunding platform, advising stakeholders (faculty, staff, and students) on best practices. Provide guidance to campaign owners to ensure successful fundraising outcomes.

Track and assess campaign performance. Monitor results and provide post-event reporting and analysis.

Vendor and Platform Management:

Serve as a point of contact for vendor partners that support the Annual Leadership Giving team’s online giving activities, including but not limited to: Givezy, VanillaSoft, ScaleFunder, BlackBaud, BeeFree, ThankView, and texting platform.

Participate in the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of online giving tools to ensure a seamless donor experience.

Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure platforms integrate effectively with broader advancement systems.

Provide regular updates and recommendations to leadership on digital philanthropy trends, opportunities, and outcomes.

Contribute to the overall success of the Division by producing creative ideas that elevate the success of University Advancement as a whole.

Validate data and work with leadership to resolve issues.

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree with 1-3 years of experience or advanced degree with 1 year of experience in marketing, project management and/or annual giving fundraising, preferably within the context of a higher education institution or a large non-profit organization.

Ability to manage relationships with internal and external partners.

General understanding of HTML in email marketing and website management.

Experience in digital and electronic communications including content management, PowerPoint, excel and Microsoft office products.

Proven skills in organizational planning, interpersonal, written, and verbal communications; a persuasive and passionate communicator.

Organizational ability and timeliness. Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities, produce quality work and meet strict deadlines.

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Self-motivated, team-player.

Proficiency in analyzing data to develop solicitation strategies, measure outcomes and inform future strategies is essential.

Valid driver’s license for local travel, and occasional night and weekend work are required.
WHAT WE OFFER
The anticipated starting salary range for the Assistant Director, Project Management, Annual Leadership Giving role is $50,000 to $60,000 annually. When determining final offer amount the UC Foundation considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, external market data, as well as, market and business considerations when making compensation decisions.
