Position Summary
The inpatient psychiatric ARNP is responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and directing treatment for adult patients with psychiatric disorders admitted to acute inpatient level of care.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients 18 years or older with acute psychiatric disorders requiring inpatient hospitalization
- Conduct suicide and violence risk assessments
- Formulate and implement comprehensive and evidence-based treatment plans
- Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications
- Order laboratory tests as indicated
- Manage acute behavioral emergencies with behavioral and pharmacologic interventions
- Lead treatment team meetings and coordinate activity of the interdisciplinary team, including primary care providers, social workers, RNs, and other team members
- Consult with primary care providers and other clinicians to facilitate evaluation and treatment of medical conditions
- Collaborate with Social Workers and Court Evaluators to assess readiness for discharge and formulate discharge plans
- Document in the electronic medical record
Requirements
- A graduate degree from an advanced nursing education program accredited by a national nursing accreditation body recognized by the United States Department of Education.
- An active Washington state RN license, without sanctions or restrictions
- State NP license
- Current CME hours to maintain licensure
- Adult/Gerontologic Psychiatry and/or Lifespan Certification of Completion from the American Nurse Credentialing Center or the American Association of Nurse Practitioners
- Registration capability with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services
- An active Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Pay and Benefit Expectations

As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $85.10 - $85.10 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
