KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supports all Quality personnel and all intra-plant departments in planning, implementing and maintaining the Quality Management System throughout the plant.
- Uses engineering drawings, standards, TCF documentation and associated customer-provided information to perform precision and imprecision measurements on fabricated and machined products. Uses precision measuring test equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators. May also use dye penetrants and dry film thickness testers.
- Analyzes results of vibration requirements to ensure tolerances and customer expectations are met.
- Routinely inspects measurement devices for calibration control and ensures production personnel are not using measurement devices that are out of calibration. Assists with maintenance of calibration stickers and records.
- Inspects incoming material and parts for conformity, piece counts and shipping damage using available documentation. Reports errors to the appropriate supervisor.
- Performs in-line, first piece, and final inspections on incomplete and complete assemblies using available engineering documentation, production travelers and inspection checklists. Reports discrepancies to appropriate personnel.
- Enters NCR data into the computer system and assists others with analyzing and maintaining existing ISO 9001:2000 quality requirements. Promotes continuous improvements for these requirements. Helps to maintain and control documents, data and other company quality documentation and administrative files as needed.
- Assists the Quality Department with promoting and seeking out continuous improvement strategies throughout the organization.
- Works with Quality personnel, plant and/or production management, and all production employees to identify, record and resolve in-house product defects and production inefficiencies.
- Provides feedback and training to other employees.
- Pending plant location, operates bridge crane or fork lift to load and unload parts as needed.

- Additional duties may be assigned, dependent upon location and product line.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED with additional training in sheet metal manufacturing or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2+ years machining, welding, or manufacturing experience at TCF or other environment.
- Ability to interpret ISO procedures and work instructions, this may vary pending plant location.
- Ability to understand vibration requirements; this may vary pending plant location.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals written in English. This includes shop orders, blue prints and test sheets.
- Ability to communicate verbally with co-workers in a productive manner. Ability to communicate with people in various roles, i.e., managers, customers, etc.
- Ability to use and interpret readings on precision measuring test equipment such as calipers, micrometers, etc.
- Basic math skills to include addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in all units of measure including whole numbers, fractions and decimals. Ability to read a tape measure and read graphs and tables.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to use tools in a safe and proper manner.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND REQUIRED TRAINING
The following certifications and training, if required, will be provided by the company:
- Forklift Certificate
- Bridge Crane Training
- Fall Protection Training
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS
To successfully perform the essential function of this position, employees must have the ability to:
- Continuously lift/move 25 pounds; occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds; occasionally pull up to 100 pounds with wheels (pallet jack). This physical ability may vary pending plant location.
- Continuously stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms above shoulder height; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear.
- Occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, reach with hands and arms at waist level and below the waist; and work in limited space.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is continuously exposed to moving mechanical parts and extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to high places, fumes or airborne particles and/or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
