Brian S. Biesman, M.D. PLLC is seeking an experienced, highly organized Clinical Research Assistant to join our Nashville clinical research team. Our research program conducts industry-sponsored clinical trials in aesthetic medicine, including studies involving pharmaceuticals, medical devices, injectables, energy-based technologies, and other emerging treatments.
This position is ideal for someone with professional clinical research experience who is detail-oriented, accountable, and interested in developing a long-term career in clinical research.
Important: This position requires prior paid, professional clinical research experience. Academic research, college coursework, volunteer positions, and internships do not satisfy the minimum experience requirement.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:
- Current Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certification
- Minimum of one year of paid, professional experience as a Clinical Research Assistant or in a comparable clinical research position
- Experience working on industry/sponsor-led clinical trials
- Working knowledge of clinical trial protocols, source documentation, regulatory requirements, and study visit procedures
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to follow study protocols, recognize discrepancies or potential deviations, and escalate concerns appropriately
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities, prioritize effectively, and meet study deadlines
Experience obtained solely through academic research, college coursework, volunteer work, or internships will not be considered toward the required one year of professional clinical research experience.

Responsibilities
The Clinical Research Assistant will work under the direction of the Principal Investigator and Lead Clinical Research Coordinator. Responsibilities will include:
- Assist with the day-to-day conduct of industry-sponsored clinical trials
- Review study protocols and prepare for participant visits
- Support participant recruitment, prescreening, scheduling, and retention
- Assist with the informed consent process within the scope of training and delegation
- Assist with study visit procedures within the scope of training and delegation
- Complete accurate, timely, and protocol-compliant source documentation
- Enter study data into electronic data capture (EDC) systems and assist with resolution of data queries
- Maintain regulatory documents, participant records, and study files
- Track study supplies, investigational products, and study-related materials as assigned
- Assist with site initiation visits, monitoring visits, audits, and study closeout activities
- Communicate professionally with participants regarding appointments and study requirements
- Help ensure that study activities are conducted according to the protocol, GCP, site procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements
- Promptly escalate eligibility questions, protocol concerns, discrepancies, and potential deviations
- Perform additional clinical research responsibilities as assigned and appropriately delegated
Preferred Qualifications
The following qualifications are preferred but not required:
- Degree or certificate in life sciences, healthcare, nursing, or a related field
- Medical Assistant, LPN, RN, phlebotomy, or other relevant clinical training
- More than one year of professional clinical research experience
- Experience with industry-sponsored Phase II–IV clinical trials
- Experience with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, injectable, or aesthetic clinical trials
- Experience with EDC platforms and electronic or paper regulatory documentation
- Familiarity with FDA regulations and IRB requirements
- Experience with phlebotomy, specimen collection/processing, or ECG/EKG acquisition
- ACRP or SOCRA membership or certification
