YOUR IMPACT:
- Lead engineering design projects on large, more complex projects.
- Apply knowledge of engineering to design roadway improvements for streets, highways, and interstates.
- Clearly communicate work and ideas through drawings, documents, reports, and verbal interaction.
- Follow design standards to lay out proposed improvements in MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D and coordinate design with design team members.
- Provide feedback and input to the project manager during the development of scopes of work, fees, and schedules on new contracts and contract modifications.
- Coordinate with other disciplines (drainage, utilities, structures, signals, lighting, ITS, etc.) to identify and mitigate potential conflicts.
- Develop stakeholder exhibits.
- Coordinate with reviewers to verify accuracy and quality of work.
- Perform work within project deadlines.
- Provide alignment and profile development, geometrics, preparation of plans and construction estimates.
- Lead with the creation and submission of technical reports, specifications, engineer’s estimates and calculations.
- Coordinate project assignments with managers and other engineers and technicians in his/her discipline group.
- Mentor junior engineers and technical staff.
- Interact with clients and stakeholders to clearly communicate elements of design and design intent.
- Assist the project manager with technical and financial aspects of project, as well as marketing and developing relationships with clients.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- B.S. degree in Civil Engineering is required.
- Professional Engineering license in Utah or ability to obtain a Utah PE within 6 months of hire.
- 10+ years of roadway design experience is required.
- Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written).
- Demonstrated interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated experience using MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, Microsoft Excel, and other applications typically used by roadway design professionals.
- Knowledge and demonstrated application of UDOT standards, specifications, and processes is preferred.
