ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop new and modify existing equipment in cross-discipline design teams (software, electrical, control, and mechanical engineers).
- Create documentation for your designs.
- Develop in C, C++, Bash, and Python on bare metal and under RHEL-compatible Linux distros in containers.
- Work with New Product Introduction, Field Service, and Operation teams in the manufacturing and support of equipment.
- Our design team is challenged with projects to keep Micron competitive in the marketplace.
- Our designs frequently provide solutions that no one else has addressed.
- We design what doesn’t exist yet.
- Work to improve existing designs, responding to manufacturing and production support.
- Daily opportunities to work hands-on with electronics, computers, in-house and third-party designed equipment in a lab environment.
- May telecommute part-time.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field.
Position requires:
- C including low-level bit level manipulation.
- C++ and STL familiarity.
- Python.
- Comprehend schematics to provide design feedback.
- Analog and digital circuitry components (including power supplies), how they form a circuit and system, and how software interacts with analog and digital circuitry.
- Debug complex systems and lower-level sub-systems.
- CPU, computer architecture aspects, and operation of microcontrollers.
- PCB layout/construction to identify components, signals, and planes for debugging.
- Electronic lab equipment (DMM, Oscilloscope, frequency counter, or SMU).
