ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop new and modify existing equipment in cross-discipline design teams (software, electrical, control, and mechanical engineers).
• Create documentation for your designs.
• Develop in C, C++, Bash, and Python on bare metal and under RHEL-compatible Linux distros in containers.
• Work with New Product Introduction, Field Service, and Operation teams in the manufacturing and support of equipment.
• Our design team is challenged with projects to keep Micron competitive in the marketplace.
• Our designs frequently provide solutions that no one else has addressed.
• We design what doesn’t exist yet.
• Work to improve existing designs, responding to manufacturing and production support.
• Daily opportunities to work hands-on with electronics, computers, in-house and third-party designed equipment in a lab environment.
• May telecommute part-time.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field.

Position requires:

1. C including low-level bit level manipulation.
2. C++ and STL familiarity.
3. Python.
4. Comprehend schematics to provide design feedback.
5. Analog and digital circuitry components (including power supplies), how they form a circuit and system, and how software interacts with analog and digital circuitry.
6. Debug complex systems and lower-level sub-systems.
7. CPU, computer architecture aspects, and operation of microcontrollers.
8. PCB layout/construction to identify components, signals, and planes for debugging.
9. Electronic lab equipment (DMM, Oscilloscope, frequency counter, or SMU).
